I started playing Magic back in 1995, and have played for a very very long time.

With that being said, I don't care for EDH. It's a beginner's format. It lacks consistency. It's a format where hard casting a 15 mana spell is completely possible. It's a format where most of the games (depending on the number of players) ends up with most players aren't paying attention to what you're doing, sitting on their phone and waiting for something to affect them. It has (dare I say it) less ACTUAL interaction than Vintage, and yet it's heralded as "Vintage Lite"

It's not even close.

Most players playing this format spend tons of money to build a deck that works around an end the game in one turn style, or prison lock you out.

And yet it's single handedly killed Vintage.

I cannot fathom why anyone playing this would not try their hand at Vintage. No its not all turn one kill. No it doesn't require power nine to play, or single cards that cost thousands of dollars.

On the other side, it's a format where lots of interactions are possible, it's a format that breathes new life into otherwise largely unplayable cards and for several other reasons I can get behind.

So, I built a rather obvious deck many many players have seen with a very simple play style. Counter/Combo

Counter cards that might otherwise devastate you, tutor for your combo pieces and win. Pretty straight forward. If you lose your combo pieces, just bring back from the grave and do it again.

I used the Forbidden Orchard/Intruder Alarm/ Natural Affinity or Elemental Uprising combo.

It's pretty simple animate your land and use the tokens to untap itself with Intruder Alarm in play. If short on mana, you can respond tothe token on the stack to animate if before the token comes down.

The extra "fun" part about this deck that makes commander a little more fun is the bargaining abilities you can make with other players.
