I first built this deck in 2009 and have continued tweaking it and testing new things in it ever since. It was my very first deck. It was my first deck to be featured on the podcast/YouTube channel Command Valley. Basically, the goal is to ramp and play dorks/mana rocks (usually by fetching out Bloom Tender), play Mayael, get to six mana asap, and start wheelin' and dealin'. The point of the deck is to cheat in fatties (most of which are huge pet cards of mine).

As with most commanders, you want to protect her with cards like Lightning Greaves, Privileged Position, Avacyn, etc. because Mayael is the heart of the deck. Though, if she dies, there are always more ways to cheat your big fatties into play with cards like Champion of Rhonas, Elvish Piper, and Quicksilver Amulet.

Things start to get really gross when you've got cards like Seedborn Muse or combos like Cream of the Crop + Lurking Predators. The Annihilator mechanic is also pretty degenerate and you'll get collective groans around the table every time you cheat out Ulamog or Kozilek. Because this deck has such a wonky curve thanks to all of the fatties, I suggest playing cards like Sensei's Divining Top, Mirri's Guile, Sylvan Library, and Scroll Rack to control not only what you draw but also what stays on top of your deck (which I guess is the same thing but it's important with Mayael!).

You may or may not notice some really obvious white and green staples that "should be in the deck" like Path to Exile and Swords to Plowshares (every single one of my other white decks have both of these) and Cultivate/Kodama's Reach; however I recently removed them to test having more targeted removal from my creatures and more mana dorks/rocks. While not as efficient, it is still pretty fun. I may or may not consider putting them back in.
