Grab your back-up band, get experience counters like you wouldn't believe, cast crazy spells for cheap, make big ass monsters, shred a nine minute guitar solo afterwards.

Some cards are chosen for their ability to trigger as many experience counters as possible, rather than stand alone playability. Synergy. Love. You dig?

The Band (they make the background noise for you): Show

• Daxos the Returned is the keyboard player. Our 14 enchantments will have him tickling the ivories like a man possessed.

• Ezuri, Claw of Progress is the bass player. We've got 17 creatures with power 2 or less to have him "slappa da bass" all night long.

• Kalemne, Disciple of Iroas is the drummer. She doesn't really beat her drum in order to get us counters, so much as she keeps a steady rhythm until it's time for a drum solo...then she explodes.

• Meren of Clan Nel Toth is the lead singer. Like Kalemne, she doesn't try to show off until it's time to hit the high notes. She waits until the crowd is almost spent, and then brings them right back into it.

• Mizzix of the Izmagnus is on lead guitar. This dude shreds. With 13 spells at 5 cmc or higher, he keeps up the energy all the way through the 3rd encore.

• Animar, Soul of Elements is the roadie. He makes things a little easier for all of them.

• Atraxa, Praetors' Voice is the groupie. She keeps the band's morale high on long tours.

• Captain Sisay is the band's manager. She makes sure they all show up on time to their gigs.

• Progenitus is the record executive that gave them their shot. He shows up to concerts very rarely, but when he does...it's special.

• Acidic Slime Triggers Kalemne and Ezuri.

• Aegis of the Gods Triggers Daxos and Ezuri.

• Courser of Kruphix Triggers Daxos and Ezuri.
