I haven't seen any posts about this yet, but we just got our first bit of spoilers for Commander Legends and things look spicy so far. Generic partner is back with 41 new partners (not sure how I feel about that) and we finally get cards for Baron Sengir, and Halana & Alena which is awesome.
I am also pretty stoked to see the Battlebond land cycle completed
Lastly, WotC is finally addressing White's ramp deficiency in the correct way IMO with Keeper of Accord.
Let the discussion begin!

If I have not already said this, I would like to see both Convalescent Care and Phyrexian Tyranny reprinted in this set, since they have never been reprinted, but would look excellent in the new card frame style.
Also, given that Akroma's Vengeance has been reprinted several times, I would like to see Akroma's Blessing be reprinted, as well.

Yeah it seems like this set will be kinda underwhelming for constructed, but at least I have Krark to consider for my coin deck. Also, for the Salamander thing I guess it could also be a Boldwyr Intimidator-type card with e.g. ": Target creature you don't control becomes a red 5/5 Salamander creature."

The tokens from Seraphic Greatsword don't exile at the end, in case anyone else had Geist of Saint Traft in mind.
Sphinx of the Second Sun is neat but overcosted
Liesa, Shroud of Dusk faces stiff competition from Kambal, Consul of Allocation imo

Krark, the Thumbless is arguably the most powerful partner revealed so far? I don't even think him going solo would be all that bad. Ironically, for my coin deck I'm hesitant to add him because his Thumb sets you up for taking things in an artifact direction rather than a spellslinger one.
Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools: Man did this guy ever have the cheesiest title in the history of the multiverse, possibly intentionally so. Anyway, another decent partner card and much cooler than Ob Nixilis of the Black Oath. Run him with a -inclusive partner so that you can Threaten and enemy commander, use it for whatever, then eat it for three cards. Again, not terrible going solo at the helm of an aristocrats deck either. (Just don't invite Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder.)
Nymris, Oona's Trickster: CMC 5 Rashmi, Eternities Crafter, kinda. Feels needlessly overcosted for such a subtle effect. No butt fighting allowed in either.

It is very nice to see that Vampiric Tutor is being reprinted, again; I know that most players, including myself, were hoping for a reprint of Imperial Seal, but at least the tutor will decrease in price, since it is still worth more than $100.00, at this time.
At this point, it is likely safe to presume that uncommon legendary creatures will now be a regular feature of this game, which severely disappoints me, since I was hoping that they appear only on rare occasions.
Mnemonic Deluge is quite awesome, but I am not certain if I would be willing to spend such a large amount of mana to cast it.
Confiscate has not been reprinted in some time, so it is nice to see another reprint of that card.
It is nice to see that WotC finally made a card of Krark, and he obviously has synergy with his own thumb, which I hope is reprinted in this set, as well.
Szat's Will is very diabolical, much like Szat, himself, although, as with Szat, himself, I feel that it should have had more black mana symbols in its cost, since both card are very powerful and very black in effect.
Sphinx of the Second Sun is a very interesting new effect that has never been done, before, so I like it.
I like Siani, but the fact that his or her (the name sounds feminine, to me) ability is limited to creatures with flying limits their usefulness.
If I ever build a fairy EDH deck, I shall definitely include Nymris in that deck.
The ghost of Ramirez de Pietro is quite an awesome callback to an obscure older card, although I wish that the ghost was black/blue, since the original card was black/blue.
Seraphic Greatsword is very awesome, although the high equip cost will require a carefully-constructed deck to be able to pay it reliably.
I am so happy to finally see Liesa, the black/white angel from Innistrad, and her ability is definitely very awesome; I certainly would like to see other legendary creatures with that form of alternative payment, but I also would like to see it remain unique to her; if I ever make a black/white EDH deck, there will be so many options from which to choose. However, why is he only a normal rare, when the other angels from her cycle were mythic rares? I noticed that her alternate cost is mandatory, not optional, which could be a problem if she is summoned too many times, but any deck that has her as the general will likely have plenty of methods for gaining life.
Bladegriff prototype is very awesome, but I am not certain if it is worth the additional 2 mana over Trygon Predator.

It is nice to finally have a card of Rebbec, who was a major character in The Thran novel, but her card is definitely underwhelming, especially considering that she eventually became Gaea, the very spirit of Dominaria.

Do we really need another reprint of Acidic Slime? It is an excellent card, but it has been printed a sufficient number of times, in my mind. I also feel that it was not necessary for another reprint of Reliquary Tower, but at least that shall help to keep its price low, since it is a very popular card; could WotC at least have given it new artwork?
The new version of Radiant has great artwork, but the card itself leaves much to be desired; 7 mana is too high for a 6/4 creature, and the fact that her ability protects only herself and requires creatures with flying is a severe disappointment for such a prominent character in the storyline.
The new card for Breeches, however, is much more reasonable, so I fail to see how WotC could have done such a poor job with designing Radiant.
Opposition agent is nasty, and I do wish that it had cost 4 mana, rather than 3 mana, but I am very glad that it is black and not blue, since blue already had too many powerful effects of that nature. I have no doubt that that card shall be very expensive and will also immediately make any player who uses it a target of all other players in the game.
Demonic knowledge is very nice, but the player shall need to have a reliable source of life in order to counteract the life loss from the card.
The new Kodama is very nice, and will definitely satisfy fans of Kamigawa.
Profane transfusion is awesome, and definitely captures the horror of Phyrexia, and I also am very fond of Keskit, as well.
At last, the magus cycle is complete! Many players predicted that it would be a magus of Natural Order, so I am certain that they are pleased that that prediction was correct.

Opposition Agent: Aven Mindcensor on wing-clipping steroids. Note that you can play fetched lands this way.
Three Visits: Unexpected but welcome Portal Three Kingdoms reprint.
Coastline Marauders: It seems like the land ramp hate train is coming, ****ing finally. Dunno if I'll put it in my actual Pirate deck tho as killing people you've stolen stuff from is kinda awkward, but hey it got evasion and is reasonably costed.
Emberwilde Captain: You'd think it'd count your hand instead since you've probably the one that's drawn an extra card? I guess tho that it helps offset the group hug side-effect of the monarch tho. Also, no evasion and pretty expensive so a no-go in my Brass deck.
Was Keskit, the Flesh Sculptor in a novel or something? I can't find any flavor text on him and it seems odd that they'd make a new character instead of using any number of old or new phyrexian characters, like Tsabo Tavoc.
Blim, Comedic Genius: Would it be too harsh if it exchanged control? And did the last sentence really need to be symmetrical? Anyway, I've previously done a list of gift-friendly cards for a custom card if anyone is interested; It's ~2 ½ years old so absolutely everything isn't there but it should cut down on search time: (Check the "Wall of Cards" spoiler button) http://tappedout.net/mtg-forum/custom-cards/grixiszedruu/ (YOUR TIME IS NOW Vampirism!!!)
DemonDragonJ: Demonic knowledge seems mostly good for being gifted by Blim, although that's ironically anti-synergetic with his discarding

The art for Ghost of Ramirez DePietro is super boring and needlessly macho, the original was one of Phil Foglio's more appropriate yet charming contributions to Magic. (Also, missed opportunity for them to realize my fanon of Ramirez being a secret crossdresser.)
October 27, 2020 6:01 p.m.
DemonDragonJ says... #11
Coward_Token, I agree that this was a missed opportunity either reprint Tsabo Tavoc or print a new version of her, but, perhaps WotC shall do so in a future set.
Also, why are you so pleased with hate toward land ramping?

SynergyBuild says... #12
DemonDragonJ the game needs better ways of dealing with land ramp, see Standard or Modern or Legacy variants of Uro/Omnath to decide that it's a problem, see all of EDH to decide that this is the format it's been the worst in.

Averna, Blooming Chaos: There's what, 6 cascade cards outside of this set, some of them being stuff like Violent Outburst? And apparently, there's 13 more in the set, plus this one and another that somehow mentions cascade? Dunno if that's enough to support a deck, although I guess there's bouncing and Throes of Chaos to extend things. At least Yidris will appreciate the 99 help.
Court of Cunning: it's neat that mill is picking up steam in EDH, and I like "super mode" monarch cards, although it being an upkeep trigger is kind of rough; pillow fort reward if nothing else
Zara, Wind Raider: pretty swingy; sometimes your opponent won't have a creature at all, sometimes a Blightsteel Colossus will peek out of their hand. Include Ashnod's Altar to basically make it a discard trigger, or maybe try to prevent the casting of big creatures somehow to recycle the same one again and again. Beware the skies, Ilharg, the Raze-Boar!
Gor Muldrak, Amphinologist: disappointing that this can't go into my Marisi deck. I do think the proxy combat theme benefits a lot from , so I'm kinda iffy on this being on the helm for that. Maybe some partner combination? Also, whew is this an obscure reference.

I am displeased that the new Kamahl is mono-green, since one of his previous incarnations was mono-green, so a red/green version of him would have been nice, but this new card is excellent, so I am not terribly upset about it, and his will is also very good.
I am very displeased that amphin mutineer can exile a creature permanently, as that is a color pie break for blue; even if the controller of the creature gets a token, I feel that it still is a break. Why not have had the mutineer transform the other creature into 4/3 salamander until end of turn, or until the mutineer left the battlefield?
Prava is nice, but limited to decks with great emphasis on tokens.
Amareth, the lustrous is very nice, but I do not believe that I need such a card for any of my decks, at this time.
Court of cunning is very nasty, but I feel that 3 mana is too low of a cost for that effect, and I am looking forward to seeing the other cards in that cycle.

So far, I only really find Kamahl, Zara, and Yurlok interesting. Kamahl because he might finally allow for me to build the W/G land animation deck I've been wanting to build for a while (assuming we get a good white partner). Zara has a pretty cool effect and provides a fresh new strategy for the relatively inflexible Izzet colors. Same goes for Yurlok though I am not exactly sure at this moment how best to utilize him, outside of Jund Group Slug.

Eligeth, crossroads augur makes scrying even more powerful than it already is, although I am uncertain whether him having partner makes him too powerful.
Has Rograkh ever been mentioned, before, or is this set his first appearance? Also, in his profile on WotC's website, Prossh was clearly identified as male, but the article also spoke of being reborn in one of Prossh's eggs, so did no one at WotC notice that?
I really like how the first ability of Livio, oathsworn sentinel does not require him to be tapped, meaning that he can still use his second ability in response to a destruction spell.
I knew that the black card in the court cycle, court of ambition, would be diabolical, and I am not disappointed by it. Unquestionably, that card will make its controller and instant target of all other players, but it definitely will demand immediate attention, or else, it shall cause major pain to its opponents.
By contrast, the white court, court of virtue, is nice, but not as powerful as the black and blue courts, which is unfortunate, because white is my favorite color in this game.
Finally, there is a card of Belbe, who was a major character in the Nemesis novel; her ability is a most interesting one, but I like it, since it is a new ability for black/green, and also fits with her role in the story of encouraging other players to fight each other for power.
Jeska's will is very nice, and definitely works well with her new planeswalker card.
October 29, 2020 12:05 p.m.
Coward_Token says... #18
Court of Virtue: not too bad, even though I think it's unfairly costed compared to the one. I'll probably add this to my Marisi deck; has surprisingly few ways of steadily making evasive tokens, and the monarch is obvious great for encouraging conflict
Livio, Oathsworn Knight: more experimentation with card advantage. As alluded to, if he's your commander then you're free to recast him and tap him down for the creatures he got tucked away
Belbe, Corrupted Observer: not bad in the 99 of a Thantis, the Warweaver deck, although note that she doesn't trigger off just damage (let alone combat damage), so a simple Impact Tremors or exploit will net people . (You're not allowed to run Sygg, River Cutthroat in her 99 because the RC hates you.)
Toggo, Goblin Weaponsmith: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEdg4glpCkg
PW!Jeska: hey, finally. Slam dunk in the 99 of Tahngarth, First Mate. 15 power's worth of pain coming your opponent's way 4 times a turn cycle!
Jeska's Will: Not super excited tbh, but it's reassuring that they're exploring the aikido design space of punishing excess, esp. in &
Archon of Coronation: Pretty clever that this lets you weather the back-and-forth of the monarch as your opponents are less likely to hit you when you're not crowned. Beware of infect tho.
Eligeth, Crossroads Augur: The Scarab God
Wheel of Misfortune: took me a while to parse, but basically don't be the one to pick the highest OR the lowest number (unless you want to keep your hand, in which case I think you're free to pick minus infinity). I assume if e.g. one player chooses 1 and the rest 0, nobody wheels (but the former still gets a single ouchie)
Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh: Ha.
DemonDragonJ: maybe Prossh just got a mate?

Sweet-gum recluse is quite a nice card, and definitely will be popular for decks with the cascade mechanic.
Colfenor was frequently mentioned in the story and flavor text of the Lorwyn/Shadowmoor block, so it is very nice to finally have a card that depicts him.
Arcane Signet's value will definitely decrease with its reprint in this set, and it also will be nice to finally have it available as a foil.
Slash the ranks will be nice for players who like to focus on using their general, especially for combat damage.
Coward_Token, that is the most logical explanation.
October 29, 2020 4:22 p.m.
Coward_Token says... #20
Weirdest thing with Belbe is that if an opponent gets hurt on their own turn, they get an extra . Like it's generous and all to give them a shot at a free T2 Ugin, the Spirit Dragon, but...
October 29, 2020 4:52 p.m.
Hi_diddly_ho_neighbor says... #22
Coward_Token - I like the idea but sadly you end up 1 mana too short to go infinite with Umbral Mantle and Yurlok.
So Staff of Domination and Scroll Rack are really nice reprints...but I have to wonder who in R&D OK'd Jeweled Lotus? Black Lotus is banned in the format for a reason beyond it's prohibitive cost. Now we have one for commanders only? What the hell? I don't think I've ever advocated for pre-bannings of cards (though I've speculated that cards would be banned shortly after release), but this one seriously needs to be banned prior to seeing the light of day. The card is pure upside, good in all phases of the game, and every deck is pretty much forced into playing it if they want to keep up with other decks running it.
October 29, 2020 9:16 p.m.
DemonDragonJ says... #23
Both Scroll Rack and Staff of Domination have become quite expensive, so it is very nice that they are both being reprinted in this set.
Jeweled lotus has nice artwork, but it is strictly worse than Black Lotus (although, to be fair, nearly every card in this game is), so I have no interest in it; I much prefer Gilded Lotus, which, despite its higher initial cost, can be used repeatedly and has no restrictions on how the mana that it generates can be spent.
October 29, 2020 9:25 p.m.
DemonDragonJ says... #24
Hi_diddly_ho_neighbor, at least jeweled lotus is less usable the more colors that a general has; for commanders with one or even two colors, it is godly, but, for generals with three or more colors, it is too impractical to be used. Two of my friends each have several mono-colored decks, so I am very worried about how the lotus shall work in their decks.
October 29, 2020 9:27 p.m.
Hi_diddly_ho_neighbor says... #25
DemonDragonJ - yes and no. Sure Breya, Etherium Shaper ironically won't be sped up by Lotus, but I don't think the color restriction argument is all that strong. For example, if you look at the top 3 played commanders of every 3 color wedge/shard, 19/30 are now T2 plays. That includes heavy hitters like Yarok, Kalamax, Kaalia, Windgrace, Korvold, Kykar, and Elsha. Each of these commanders are kill-on-sight value engines that require quick answers before they bury opponents in value. If you expand the restriction further you get even more strong cards like Xyris and Sen Triplets. Getting these commanders down 2-3 turns earlier, before opponents are even remotely close to being prepared, will just lead to more unbalanced games. Furthermore, most of the heavily played 5-color commanders besides Ur-Dragon and new Niv don't actually have color restrictive mana costs. T1 Najeela, the Blade-Blossom (Najeela can already do this with Mana Crypt, but this is just another way to speed her out) or T2 Golos, Tireless Pilgrim are absolutely disgusting.
I think Lotus will be at its most degenerate in cEDH, but it will likely contribute to the "Sol Ring" problem at casual tables as well. More casual decks are not as well equipped to fend of a fast start by one player. It doesn't look like the RC is planning to emergency ban it, though they are watching it at least. However, after hearing the reasoning behind the Lutri, the Spellchaser emergency banning, I don't see this situation being any different.

• A card that’s stronger the fewer colors in your commander’s color identity
Dunno what this'll be but it sounds welcome; it's kind of messed up that having more colors is pretty much always better for a card as long as it's going to be in your command zone
Yeah I'm not a fan of the Lotus either, especially since the competitive top/high tier partners are all individually 2-color yet can give the color identity benefits of a 3/4 one. Really swingy too; it'd be underwhelming to draw it when you've already cast your commander. (I can pay for a recast tax and a half, whoop-de-do.)
Kinda dislike Fall from Favor as it mostly hates on (voltron) combat
Nice Najeela reprint
Archelos, Lagoon Mystic: you should probably make sure you have a way of tapping him on the turn you cast him so that you don't accidentally supercharge an enemy Scapeshift
Also gotta correct my earlier assessment of Krark, the Thumbless: since he Vensers the spell on a losing trigger, it will obviously not resolve. Sorry Karn's Temporal Sundering, no saving you from exile!
October 30, 2020 1:15 p.m.
DemonDragonJ says... #27
Anointer of valor has a great ability, but 6 mana is too high of a cost for a 3/5 creature, even with that ability.
Fall from favor should have been white, in my mind, because it would make more sense, from a flavor perspective, for that color.
A reprint of Return to Dust is nice, but I feel that Heliod's Intervention is superior to that card in the majority of situations.
Both Command Beacon and Rings of Brighthearth badly needed reprints, as they had become quite expensive, so it is very nice to see them be reprinted in this set.
Tuia bearclaw is nothing spectacular, but will be a nice support card for another general, in my mind.
Archelos is very nice, and I expect to see many decks with him as the general, and he obviously will be best when his controller can tap and untap him at will, such as with Freed from the Real.
WotC has posted an article with biographies of each new legendary creature in this set, so I shall post a link to it, here, so that, after the entire set is revealed and all cards are added to this website's database, I can easily update my list of commanders by home plane.

War Room: Not bad! ChannelFireball's article covers most of it; fine in e.g. mono- or even mono- to make things a bit more reliable
Thalisse, Reverent Medium: it's not quite Anointed Procession in the command zone, but I like it. Strionic Resonator triples the number of created Spirits. Temporary tokens from Tombstone Stairwell and Lightning Coils still count. Finally, it doesn't specify creature tokens, so with Pitiless Plunderer and a sac outlet, in response to each turn's trigger, you can sac the Spirits of the previous turn to get Treasure, only to have those Spirits replaced by new ones!
Vow of Torment: took me a second to parse that the point of this was further the deprecation of intimidate.
Promise of Tomorrow: More experiments in card advantage! I like the art and name, very hopeful and wholesome.
Ghen, Arcanum Weaver: the art for this looks more to me than anything, but whatever. Enchantments with ETB abilities are obviously nice, e.g. Act of Authority, Demonic Lore, and Sage's Reverie (no Induced Amnesia and Hatching Plans in the 99 tho, sorry). Spirit Loop-styled cards and enchantment tokens from e.g. Daxos the Returned can be used for sac fodder. Sagas can be recycled (you can loop Fall of the Thran if you really want to).
October 30, 2020 7:02 p.m.
DemonDragonJ says... #29
War Room must be the card that Mark Rosewater mentioned that was better the fewer colors that a general has; I like it, but, since all of my EDH decks, at this moment, contain three or more colors, I cannot use that card; however, if I ever make a two-colored EDH deck (I would rather not make a mono-colored deck, as such decks are too limited), I will definitely consider that card for such a deck. I am displeased that there was no reference, however subtle to Dr. Strangelove, which is as great of a flavor fail as there being no reference to Edgar Allen Poe on Nevermore.
I like Ghen's ability, as it is an interesting new ability, but white is the only color in his identity that cares about enchantments, so it does feel odd that he is red/white/black, rather than green/white/black, but at least he is exploring new design space for that color combination.

Soulfire Eruption: Swingy In Garruk's Wake/Fire Covenant-ish card that also can give a window of opportunity for some serious card advantage. Neat design for mono-!
Armored Skyhunter: experimentation etc. Relevant tribes for Kemba, Kha Regent, Raksha Golden Cub, and Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale
DemonDragonJ: Yeah there's also stuff like Faith Healer, I was mostly thinking more contemporarily, specifically various THB cards like Final Flare. That set also had Enigmatic Incarnation tho so whatever.

Obeka, Brute Chronologist: Okay then! Sundial of the Infinite is quite a bit cheaper, but Sedris, the Traitor King appreciates the redundancy in his 99. Conversly, when Obeka herself is at the helm you can use Sedris and similar cards like Dawn of the Dead, along with mass token makers like Firecat Blitz. The fact that you need other people's consent to Time Stop isn't entirely useless since you can offer to do it in response to another opponent's catastrophic spell.

Wrong Turn: Extra Zedruu the Greathearted support; you can also make a deal with one opponent to let them use another opponent's big beater against them. Kinda weird that this is in the same set as Blim, Comedic Genius tho, seeing as he can't use it in his 99.
Court of Bounty: Are you kidding me? How is Court of Grace in the same cycle as this?
Cuombajj Witches: Ha!

Rootweaver Druid: So best case scenario you get three lands for three mana, which is efficient. Still, the group hugging plus the unreliability makes this not so great in my eyes. At least people are more likely to take up your offer than if you'd cast Tempt with Discovery
Hans Eriksson: hahaha nice "Ach! Hans, Run!" reference, although he looks nothing like the figure in that card's art. Anyway, pretty swingy, but Hans' low power and high toughness will mean more underwhelming flips are less likely to lead to a lost creature from your side, although you'd do good to better your chances further with some sort of defense for them, although I'm not sure what that would be in . Neyith of the Dire Hunt obviously appreciates him. Don't worry Hans, your sister will save no matter what!

DemonDragonJ says... #37
Why is plague reaver not a beast horror or beast zombie? Since when are regular beasts known to be bearers of horrific plagues?
At last, the infamous Hans has finally appeared on a card of his own, and it turns out that he is Saffi's brother, which makes me wonder: will there eventually be a card for Erik, himself?
Rootweaver druid is definitely an interesting card for games with more than two players, and I wonder if it would work in my Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis deck.
October 31, 2020 7:13 p.m.
Hi_diddly_ho_neighbor says... #38
I'd just like to point out that Saffi is in the process of being attacked behind Hans in his artwork and I think that is a fantastic touch.
Soulfire Erruption is pretty bad compared to the others of the cycle spoiled so far. You want to hit high CMC spells to deal the maximum damage, but you don't get to cast them for free which means that you need additional mana beyond the 9 already used to cast the spell.
Amix might be an interesting repeatable removal spell for Glissa, the Traitor.
Obeka is insanely disappointing due to that "may" rider clause. I get that she might be too strong due to cards like Freed from the Real without the "may" clause, but they could've designed her with different drawbacks that would make her still useful outside of your turn.
At least you can't Cascade into a Apex Devestator of Maelstrom Wanderer, but still, not sure that deck needed more help.

I would like to see both Congregation at Dawn and Signal the Clans (preferably downgraded to an uncommon) reprinted in this set, since they are both quite useful cards that have never been reprinted.

Cuombajj Witches is a most unexpected reprint, but the new artwork is very nice.

Tormod, the Desecrator: Desecrated Tomb in the command zone. Dodge the dreaded "one or more" templating with repeated single-card graveyard manipulation like Withered Wretch or Phyrexian Reclamation. Note that it's only your gravyeard, but not just creature cards. Guess we now know who this belongs to.
DemonDragonJ re:Plague Reaver: yeah what's strange is that there are several other "Reaver" cards featuring quadrupedal Beasts, but all of them also belong to either of the two creatures types you mentioned. I was going to be anal and say it might be an Ikoria thing, but then you think'd it at least have the decency be a Nightmare and maybe not resurrect itself from the dead. (I'm guessing it's a Phyrexian thing and they just forgot to add an extra creature type.)
Hi_diddly_ho_neighbor re:Soulfire Eruption: just in case you missed it, the impulsive draw lasts until the end of your next turn, so you're free to untap with the exiled cards even if you're unlikely to play all of them. I'll acknowledge tho that there's some tension between that and wanting high CMC for damage, since even with a fresh turn you're then going to cast less of the exiled cards if most of them are expensive.

At long last, the infamous Tormod now has a card; with WotC now printing cards for famous characters who never previously had cards, where are Ashnod and Gix? They were very important characters during the Brothers' War, so it is rather weird that they have not yet had cards of their own.

The rare spot and the uncommon spot are still open, so there's hope yet

"Nadier's Nightblade": Not strictly worse than Zulaport Cutthroat since it's "leaves" (watch out Cyclonic Rift!) and counts noncreature tokens like Treasures.
"Nadier, Agent of Twilight": Lena, Selfless Champion with some Elenda, the Dusk Rose sprinkled on top
Rakshasa Debaser: not bad on its own, and basically having aftermath: cast three Reanimate + some damage is pretty nice too

Sepulchral Primordial is the better comparison with the Debaser's encore but w/e

A reprint of Thought Vessel in this set is very nice, because that shall decrease its price even further and also make it available in foil for the first time, which I like.

Now that this game has a legendary turtle shaman, I wonder if anyone will make any references to Master Oogway from Kung Fu Panda?

Imoti, Celebrant of Bounty: Timmy version of Rashmi, Eternities Crafter, Averna, the Chaos Bloom approves. X-spells and self-discounting stuff like Ghalta, Primal Hunger helps abuse things. Note that it's not just from your hand so if you cascade into a CMC 6+ spell you get another cascade!

Just a quick note, there have been a number of leaks circulating the internet this past week. PLEASE DO NOT DISCUSS LEAKED CARDS until said cards have been specifically spoiled. TappedOut's official policy, which can be read here, is that posting leaked card images or texts can result in an automatic ban, and requests that, if you have posted such, you use the Contact Us section to have the post with the leaked art/text deleted.
So, let's all be careful and respect Wizards' release schedules. Personally, I cannot wait for spoiler season to start and am really looking forward to seeing what this set has to offer.
