Seller of Songbirds

Creature — Human

When Seller of Songbirds enters the battlefield, create a 1/1 white Bird creature token with flying.

Maybe you'd like creatures like Ampryn Tactician and Leonin Armorguard , or Seller of Songbirds and Sandsteppe Outcast ? The first two are decent bodies that make all your other bodies even more "decent-er". The last two are some of many creatures that put out flying tokens. I know you said you didn't want to do the traditional Tokens strategy here, but having flying chumps is never a bad thing.

Also if you can blink Stonehorn Dignitary reliably, that's pretty bad-ass.

Familiar's Ruse would be a cool counterspell in this deck, better than Mana Leak. I knew there was a counterspell that returned a creature to your hand!

Clayton was talking about Stonecloaker, which would be an awesome include in this deck. Interesting to note that it can return itself so you can keep replaying this over and over and exiling cards from graveyards.

Deputy of Acquittals, Quickling, Whitemane Lion, and Restoration Angel all seem like good additions to the deck. I think you'd want to add more creatures with abusable enters the battlefield effects, though. Mulldrifter and Cloudblazer are both decent card draw and would be nice to pick up and use again. Deadeye Navigator would also be amazing with Mulldrifter and Cloudblazer.

If you want cheap cards to cast (also $$ wise) that make a token when they enter the battlefield, Aviation Pioneer and Seller of Songbirds both make 1/1 fliers. There are a lot of creatures that make tokens when they enter the battlefield, but these creatures are the least mana cost, make tokens with evasion, cost pennies, and can come back from Bishop of Rebirth. Sun Titan would probably be rad in this deck. As would Deadeye Navigator.

Cards like Momentary Blink are cool because you can use them in response to a targeted removal spell. Your creature will leave the battlefield and return as a new instance, one that is not being targeted by the removal, fizzling their spell. Deadeye Navigator's effect is similar, BTW, another reason it's so good.

Seller of Songbirds instead of Sandsteppe Outcast?

-2 Dragon Fodder and definitely +2 Impact Tremors. or -2 something else. but you want to see an Impact Tremors as often as possible in this deck, I would think.

So lets pick the deck apart in detail:
1# If you don't have removal resistant creatures (like Slippery Bogle) you don't run cards that have "enchant creature" (with exception of enchantments like Rancor that don't go the grave). Because you should not allow your opponent to trade + Fatal Push for your 2 cards, and 2+ mana.
(and 2 cmc cycling cards like Angelic Gift are not much better)

2# Playing very dumb beaters is a bad idea. Especially if they need you to have a large board presence to do ANYTHING at all.
People tend to call these "win more cards" because they won't help you if you are in a bad position, and if you are winning already, what is the point in playing them?
I am talking about Crusader of Odric & Seraph of the Masses.
And even if we disregard the problems described above, when tokens are board wiped thy will self destruct.(since they will have 2-3 damage marked on them until end of turn, and when your tokens leave the battlefield, their toughness will fall below 2/3 - so they will swiftly follow)

3# Seller of Songbirds < Precinct Captain - so you shouldn't play 4 bird traders & 1 captain, but the reverse.

4# Akroan Horse is terrible - it only exists to reference the Trojan horse, for more greekish impression for the set. Artifact creatures are dangerous, to the player who plays them as they are hit by both artifact and creature removal/hate cards.
And the wooden horse is bad even without this fact, its so bad that you wouldn't even want to Harmless Offering it to the opponent, as its simply not worth the time and mana investment.
(it takes time to get to 4 mana in a 19 land deck that lacks filtering)

6# Mausoleum Guard is a worse Promise of Bunrei, the latter is an enchantment (thus very few people have stuff that would exile it unlike the guard which has high chances of meeting Path to Exile. The enchantment is also 1 mana cheaper, and if its played all your creatures will have the effect, so if any 1 of them dies you get the bonus (its much easier to not block a 2/2 tha to not block even a single one from the incoming horde of tokens)

7# Paragon of New Dawns; Phantom General < Honor the Pure, Intangible Virtue, Spear of Heliod & even Glorious Anthem. (honorable mention goes to Archetype of Courage because first strike is awesome if your are defending your life total from a weaker board position)

8# this deck simply doesn't have enough lands to support its (unnecessarily) high mana curve.
You are playing 11 4cmc cards in a deck with 19 lands, and you neither have ramp, nor card filtering to help you get to the necessary mana.
This means that those cards will likely just sit in your hand while you are being beaten to death by Tarmogoyf, Reality Smasher, or even a mono white token deck that runs a proper curve and/or the same effects for cheaper costs.

Giving your board indestructibility is the least of your worries, but you could theoretically accomplish such (or similar things) in modern (of course not with your mana source density):
Selfless Spirit, Frontline Medic, Knight Exemplar, Eldrazi Monument, Avacyn, Angel of Hope (Privileged Position)

You don't use google, you use this site to search magic cards...

Okay It is a good start. However, if you want to do damage you have to look at it as a whole.

  1. You have some but not enough mana ramp. You are W/G in color. Possibly the fastest ramp besides maybe R/G. Needed: Command Tower, Kodama's Reach, Mirari's Wake, Sol Ring Especially Sol RingThese cards will allow you to expand your ability to slam down creatures faster which is how you win.

  2. You need card draw. Card draw is especially important in commander and can be pretty damn helpful in getting you the win. Needed: Skullclamp, Well of Lost Dreams, Shamanic Revelation

  3. Some of your creatures are okay but you can do better. Here is where it gets tricky for balance. Everything up until now is more or less needed. Creatures are where you make the deck your own. I will give suggestions of new ones, and at the end recommend ones to take out.Token Focus: Rampaging Baloths, Avenger of Zendikar, Emmara Tandris, Giant Adephage, Rhys the Redeemed, Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite, Craterhoof Behemoth, Voice of ResurgenceLifegain Focus: Soul Warden, Essence Warden, Felidar SovereignRemove: Deadly Recluse, Desperate Sentry, Gatecreeper Vine, Mwonvuli Beast Tracker, Seller of Songbirds, Sublime Archangel, Tangleclaw Werewolf  Flip, Thraben Standard Bearer, Unruly Mob

  4. Spells-This will cover the rest. This time I am starting with things to take out. Some of these spells strengthen you as a whole. Remember, the object of your deck is to go wide (ie a lot of creatures) and overwhelm them.

Remove: Aim High, Eyes in the Sky, Rain of Blades, Tower Defense, Selesnya Keyrune, Farseek, Fungal Sprouting, Howl of the Night Pack, Lay of the Land, Root Out, Slime Molding

Instants: White Sun's Zenith, Path to Exile, Secure the Wastes, Enlightened Tutor, Arachnogenesis

Sorceries: Storm Herd, Increasing Devotion, Phyrexian Rebirth, Martial Coup, Wrath of God, Devout Invocation, Entreat the Angels

Artifacts: Akroma's Memorial, Eldrazi Monument, Lightning Greaves Lightning Greaves is another one of those essential cards because it protects your most important creature.

Enchantments: True Conviction, Privileged Position, Asceticism

Lands: Your land count is good. You will have to play with the deck to understand if you need to add more or less.

Cards to Think About: Elspeth, Sun's Champion, Sylvan Library, Aura Shards, Hanweir Militia Captain  Flip

FINAL THOUGHTS: REMEMBER THIS DECK IS HOW YOU WANT TO BUILD IT. I am just offering advice. It is a good start to the deck; however, you were lacking in power. You would play out your first few hands and then hit a wall. Your deck revolves around tokens thus Parallel Lives is your bread and butter that card can bust a game wide open for you. That is why I added Enlightened Tutor it will get you Parallel Lives or if you already have it out another enchantment to boost your token.

Remember: Don't necessarily buy all these cards at once. Play your current deck if you have all those cards, then understand how it plays. Then buy a few cards here and there. My biggest INITIAL recommendations are: swap your bird token generators for angel generators you got from a 1/1 to a 4/4, get some board wipes they may prove needed despite the fact that you don't want them (Phyrexian Rebirth will be especially effective for you and all your tokens), lastly you probably need the Enlightened Tutor and possibly Rhys the Redeemed both will strength your token game an immense amount.

-Cheers
