Although I purchased some packs as a kid for their art/intrigue, I didn't properly start playing the game until mid 2013. I started out at an FNM with the Death Reaper (Liliana's Reaver) starter deck and learned the hard way from there. I spent all of Theros Block playing in Standard and got my first EDH Precon of Power Hungry (Prossh, Skyraider of Kher *f-etch*).

I do have an old TappedOut account from back during this time, but divorce would be another time I would lose & give away the vast majority of my collection including Standard, Modern, Tiny Leader & EDH decks as well as hundreds of cards. Let's Tormod's Crypt that away and bring us to now.

It took doing some drafts of Crimson Vow, D&D Baldur's Gate & March of the Machines at work to truly rope me back in again but I've come back with a vengeance. I've revived a few decks I still had, completely rebuilt & somewhat revamped a couple of others. My main interest has always been EDH with friends, but competitively I love Modern.

I've played 8-Rack off-and-on for almost a decade now and you can find whatever iteration of it I have here as Cash-Strapped Black Racks on my profile. It's probably the deck I deck cycle most often as I'm quite proud of how aggressive my own build of this archetype is.

Sometimes I find building a deck more enjoyable than playing it. I like my decks to tell stories, to be thematic, tribal is almost always a must if not some very defined idea. Probably my proudest deck achievement in this was my mono-black Vampires EDH deck I Vant To Dvink Your Vlood, which not only did I ensure that it was a full Vampire tribal deck but that also every card made sense as far as vampires were concerned.

I love tongue-in-cheek deck names, can teach people about piloting 8-Rack in Modern and will never catch myself playing Standard for the rest of my life without heavy coersion. Modern & EDH is really where my heart is, I'll likely head into Tiny Leaders territory again and damn are there alot of new formats to learn!

Oh and lastly, I am that sort of guy who makes sure every single basic land in an EDH deck has alternate art unless I am having a very specific type of basic land art (generally full art).
