Maybeboard

My take on a more fair version of Narset. The deck is also semi-budget in that I don't run super expensive cards unless I had them before building the deck. This is more of a "shoebox-in-bedroom-closet" Narset edh that seems to do pretty well against the tested decks. So far, it has won 13 out of 17 games versus Kaalia, Nekusar, Azusa, Jarad, and Niv-Mizzet (infinite ping). It has lost almost every match to Sharuum combo, Sen Triplet control, Edric control, Zur combo and Nicol Bolas. Clearly, I'm failing to control heavy decks. My only saving grace against Niv-Mizzet is that the infinite combo is highly fragile vs Narset.

Time for some card explanations

Luminarch Ascension I have this card in every goodstuff EDH deck that runs white. It's especially useful here. It's a non-creature way of creating creatures. The stipulation? It has to be on the field and you not lose life for a total of 4 turns. The good news is that in multiplation, this is easy, assuming they don't hit you.

Declaration of Naught I can't really cast counters with Narset so they usually end up exiled. This is my way around that for countering certain generals.

Restore Balance I usually run Balance but it's not legal. So, here's the same thing when cast through Narset.

Sword of Body and Mind It's a sword. Not one of the top 3, but a sword still.

Tenza, Godo's Maul It's not a sword, but with Narset, it's really powerful. +3/+3 with Trample for a total cost of 4 (1 if pulled with Narset) is nothing to laugh at. I believe it to be a highly over looked card.

Bonesplitter and O-Naginata are two cheap equips that work well with Narset. They are really just holding the place of Sword of Light and Shadow and Sword of Fire and Ice but are decent on their own until then.

Spectral Flight Buff plus Flying. Needs replacing

Spirit Mantle Buff plus protection from creatures. I'd like to have something stronger, but that protection keeps me landing my swings.

Pillage Another over looked card. Destroys an artifact mainly. If none are on the field, pop one of your opponents troublesome lands.

You will see an obvious lack of multiple turn spells. I personally choose to run only one, and it's the hardest to cast from hand. This way, I can keep my friends from running away when I flip Narset out of her box. However, disregarding multiple turns, any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated and looked forward to.
