My objective was to shift Kalamax, the Stormsire into a more efficient deck with a lower mana curve, while Zaffai, Thunder Conductor would get the big mana spells to trigger his 10 damage at a random opponent.

A sketch you might take some ideas from: Kalamax, the Combosire

2nd batch of upgrades:

  • Ponder (to Zaffai) -> Anticipate (it's instant and also draws cards)

  • Faithless Looting -> Unexpected Windfall (it's instant, also fills the graveyard and pays itself if copied with Kalamax)

  • Guttersnipe (to Zaffai) -> Thud (a third copy of Fling to your infinite combos involving Veyran or Kalamax. Guttersnipe is slow for this fast gameplan.)

  • Curious Herd -> Fortune's Favor (Heard might be a good card against Osgir or Zaffai. Otherwise, getting two 3/3 tokens is not worth a full card. Also, Favor brings a fun minigame to the match.)

  • Channeled Force -> Wild Ricochet (Force's discard is risky: a counterspell or a creature/planeswalker removal can set you back so many cards. Kalamax makes it better, but it is still risky.)
