Just a hybrid Derevi combo list I've been toying with. The Sisay combo is clunky and a little fragile since it requires a mana rock (nonbo with some of the stax) or mana dorks (usually the better option) already in play.

Never written a primer before, so brace yourselves.

In short, use Derevi as a typical Derevi list, staxing and tempoing. Once you feel you can, use Sisay to hit Paradox Engine and start the combo to grab Mox Amber and Mox Opal. If you have a mana dork or a mana rock out, you should be good from here. Just acrue some mana playing things like Thrasios, Kataki, and Thalia, until you can cast Azami. Once you cast Azami, tap her and derevi to draw some cards, then start chaining cheap spells (not fully deterministic) until you have enough to cast either Grand Arbiter or just go straight for Venser, if you have the mana sources. Then just cast/bounce Venser and draw the deck with Azami/Derevi/Venser. Play Teferi for protection. Eventually play Laboratory Maniac and win.

Worst case is just using the standard Teferi/Seedborn/Sisay value to dump out stax pieces and draw cards. I tried to make the combo work with cards that would be good on their own and not be considered "dead". Even Laboratory Maniac counts as a wizard for Azami, Galecaster, and Patron Wizard. Few things feel more satisfying than having Paradox Engine and Stasis on the field.

If you have extra lands when you get to go off, grab Grand Arbiter to make blue spells cost less. Then grab Sakashima and cast it, entering as Grand Arbiter. Now interaction costs more, your blue and white spells cost between 2 and 4 less mana, and, most importantly, Venser only costs UU. This means you only need the two moxes to continue going off. If you have a castable card in hand, often it is good to grab Gaea's Cradle after getting the mana rocks (or using the mana rocks to grab as many 2-drop legendaries as possible, then grab Cradle) so that you can have a bunch of mana floating and almost surely guarantee a win.

When it's released, the new Lavinia (Azorius Renegade) is going in here, probably in place of Lotus Cobra.

I just have to say its a damned shame that there is no foil Galecaster Colossus.

I like to play this deck because I love Derevi. My friends HAAAATE this deck... so enjoy.
