This is an attempt at making a friendly to play against Meren reanimation deck. I am trying to limit the amount of hate and unhappiness that the deck will generate at the table because I want people to still have fun playing against the deck and I don't want to be hated out of the game right away (like happens with most Meren decks). Ultimately, I think the deck ended up not being as friendly as I wanted, but I think it is just simply hard to make Meren friendly in general.

Overall, the goal still remains to make a fun to play against deck that isn't too abusive or restrictive for others at the table. Dictate of Erebos and Butcher of Malakir are enough, Grave Pact really isn't needed. Some redundancy and shenanigans is good, but keeping something to a card or two is a requirement (especially since there are repeatable tutors in the deck already). Plus, no infinite combos.

Possibilities:

• More of a focus on dredge through cards like Life from the Loam, Stinkweed Imp
• Adding more life drain style mechanics (Gray Merchant of Asphodel aka Gary), but would prefer to keep those as the secondary mechanic for a Phenax Mill deck.
• Harvester of Souls for some card draw
• Tooth and Nail might be good replacement for Jarad's Orders
• Fauna Shaman for creature tutoring
• Savra, Queen of the Golgari for more forced sacrifice on a creature
• Vona's Hunger for opponent forced sac (especially with city's blessing)
