Atraxa, Phyrexian Hell's Angel

Commander / EDH GWUB

Erutan9

This is my first stax deck. Atraxa seemed like an awesome general to attempt my first stax commander with. Her primary focus is to simply do a soft lock and then slowly overtake the board after a land destruction, or permanent taxing with tangle wire, winter orb, and smokestack, and then simply putting tokens onto the field. The secondary win con is a small infect strategy with ichor rats and proliferating late game while trying to grind out the game.

I want to make this a more competitive deck, knowing that competitive means turn one wins, massive hate, no casual undertakings, and knowing that Atraxa herself might not be as strong as other control commanders like Grand Arbiter or teferi. Speaking with a few judges who play competitively at my local FNM they say she's still viable and competitive because of her curve and remaining true to a linear approach she can be great for competitive multiplayer EDH. So my questions are as follows:

Do you have synergy suggestions for this current deck build to improve its ability to lock down the board?

Other than the land base, how can I improve on slots that are already here?

When determining my creature package and my meta where each player I play with has 4-5 competitive decks (I run Narset and Mimeoplasm when we play tier 1 decks) what sort of creature package should I seriously consider? How will those help synergize this stax strategy?

Have you had success with Atraxa in your playgroup competitively?

Again, this deck looks to be competitive, allowing for the idea that our Spike mentality may not allow us to consider Atraxa in this category. I would like this deck to operate with or without her ever hitting the board, while still keeping true to her 4 color options.

Esper Green?

Abzan Blue?

Bant Black?

Sultai White?

What shell would work best?
