Atraxa Enchantress

Commander / EDH

revmo

Atraxa Enchantress. I enjoyed playing Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis enchantress, but felt the red was underwhelming. Atraxa, Praetors' Voice literally has nothing to do with this deck other than the colors and a plan D if all else goes wrong. Since the release of Hour of Devastation, Solemnity has introduced a whole new line of game play for enchantress decks that is pretty absurd.

  • Solemnity + Decree of Silence: All counterable spells from your opponents are countered.
  • Solemnity + Phyrexian Unlife: Solemnity prevents you from gaining poison counters, so your life can go below zero and then some, while never gaining infect counters from damage.
  • Solemnity + Lost Auramancers: If Lost Auramancers enters play after Solemnity, it gains no Vanishing counters. It won't die during your upkeep because the removing of the last counter is what causes it to die, but with a sac outlet, it becomes a non-exiling Academy Rector.
  • Solemnity + Mystic Remora: Solemnity prevents age counters, so Mystic Remora will stick around for quite a while longer if it comes in to play after Solemnity.
  • Solemnity + Glacial Chasm: Again, no age counters, so Glacial Chasm gets to stay in play for much longer.
