Siren's Ruse Discussion

Ta11Man on So Much Booty: A Treasure Production Deck

Thanks antacidbrn, a lot of the decks that others have shared in this comments section are definitely much more competitive, but I enjoy playing with what I've got a lot. Sailor of Means is definitely worth it. He is an excellent defender and produces treasure on ETB, which means you can produce a lot of treasure when comboing him with Panharmonicon or Siren's Ruse.

BioProfDude Hostage Taker was mentioned back in the archives of the comments. He was in here for removal but to be honest in standard he dies wayyyy to easily to burn and such that he never stays out long enough to get real value out of him(I wonder if its the giant KILL ME sign on his back?). And being that standard pretty much is just energy decks. The creatures I'm taking and they get right back just give them more energy to use. So More traditional removal IE Fatal Push (cause everyone loves a treasure sac for revolt push) and Bontu's Last Reckoning cause who doesn't love a board wipe for 3 when you always have mana to use anyway in the form of treasures. Also Hostage Taker while being a pirate and has ETB trigger isn't that great with Siren's Ruse till after he MAYBE stayed alive long enough to cast the stolen creature/artifact in order to steal another.

Hence his removal and deeper focus on actual counters and removal.

Okay, I have my questions together lol.

How come no Hostage Taker? And I kinda miss Aviary Mechanic since it can bounce the Dowsing Dagger. Wouldnt these two work well with Siren's Ruse?

I completely get Strategic Planning with Refurbish. I also get Kinjalli's Sunwing. Cast Out makes sense to me too. Im not sold on Storm Fleet Aerialist though.

Thanks for putting this together. Im learning!

Deadeye Plunderers seems very good in this build, as it will most likely be huge and gets continuous treasures even if it doesn't fit the Panharmonicon+Siren's Ruse idea

I thought something similar.

But more of a focus on Marionette Master. Bounce the pirates with Siren's Ruse and Depths of Desire in order to generate more treasures (enhanced by Panharmonicon), Inspiring Statuary to be able to use all artifacts as mana (no need to sac treasures for early mana. With some scry and card find with Opt and Diabolic Tutor. A little bit of

I've let opponents just get down my health before I win in turn 6-7. Inventors' Fair to help with that.

Siren's Ruse would be your saving grace for A) Protecting against removal(blinking removes targeting), B) you get to produce more treasure when ur guys re-enter the battlefield, C) get to draw a card since they are pirates.

Also both of them don't interface well with the whole Siren's Ruse+Panharmonicon combo with the existing creatures like Sailor of Means and Prosperous Pirates do

Pretty sweet deck I appreciate it a lot. Wizard tribal is pretty cool I never noticed how inexpensive most of the wizard tribal cards are on Magic Online....I think I'm going to have to give it a try. My favorite Tishana version to play right now is actually an elf tribal version. In my build the MVPs are often copy spells and blink effects. Specifically Cackling Counterpart, Vizier of Many Faces, Ghostly Flicker, Essence Flux, Displace, Siren's Ruse, Nephalia Smuggler and good old Deadeye Navigator. You can make a copy of Tishana and choose to keep the real one and the copy goes to the graveyard but you still get the ETB card draw trigger. And blink effects can be used to save creatures early or get more value from Tishana late. I'll be getting a Patron Wizard for my wizard tribal version though, because I like being extra annoying....I'm putting a link to my Tishana deck too, although it's actually a tad different now because of some recent changes I've been testing.. its like 94% the same still.

And I see by your username that you also know that Tool is the best band ever. Good stuff friend. A+
