Order of triggers with Hostage Taker, the exiled creature and Siren's Ruse

Asked by Klausi 6 years ago

Situation:
I have a Hostage Taker, who exiled MY Ravenous Chupacabra and my Opponent has some random creature in play. I now cast Siren's Ruse on my Hostage Taker. What is the order of the ETB effects?

Do they enter the battlefield at the same time?

Can i destroy the oopponents creature with RC or exile it with HT?

Or can i choose?

Does the carddraw from Siren's Ruse happen before or after all the exiling and destroying?

my guess:
1. Siren's Ruse does its thing and i draw a card because i targeted a pirate
2. Chupacabra leaves exile and ETB triggers
3. Hostage Taker enters and ETB triggers before chupacabras could resolve
--> hostage taker exiles the other creature before chupacabras trigger can resolve, so he has no legal target anymore and i now have a chupacabra in play and my HT has the opponents creature exiled

I hope you can help :)tyKlausi

Siren's ruse goes off, drawing you a card. As each spell resolves completely once starting to resolve, before anything else goes on stack or a player gets priority.

There are now 2 triggered abilities waiting to go on the stack. When 2 or more abilities go on stack by same player, the player chooses the order.

So you could put hostage taker, then chupacabra on the stack. So chupacabra, would resolve first.

Or you could just target chupacabra with hostage taker and not have to worry about how to stack it.
