(For non-budget version see https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/trebuchetmemesdeck/)

This is a powerful, ultra-budget (~30 USD) Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph deck.

Its goal is simple: (ab)use creatures with "tap: deal 1 damage to each opponent". Namely, the "Trebuchets" (Brimstone Trebuchet, Lobber Crew, etc). We use Ghyrson as commander over e.g. Torbran, Thane of Red Fell because the UR color identity allows us to use our Trebuchets to generate absurd amounts of value and damage. For example: untappers, Curiosity effects, Sigil of Sleep, etc.

Also sometimes we get to go infinite with Niv-Mizzet :)

Example turns:

With Vizier of Sands and Swiftfoot Boots in play, I cast a Trebuchet. I pay 1 to equip Swiftfoot Boots. I pay U to cast Curiosity on it.

(Opponents groan)

I tap the Trebuchet, use Vizier to untap it, tap it again to deal 2 damage to each opponent and draw 6 cards.

Late game I untap with two Trebuchets, a decent amount of mana, and Dramatic Reversal in hand. I recast Ghyrson Starn.

At an opportune moment, all at instant speed, I activate both Trbuchets and then cast dramatic Rebersal. I reactivate both Trebuchets. Ghyrson triggers on each activation, for a total of (1+2)*4=12 damage per person

Total list of "Trebuchets" as of 2022 (please comment if I missed one!):

Trebuchets:

Nearly Trebuchets:

(honorable mention to both Flame Fusillade and the Niv-Mizzets, which while single-target often cause many, many, many activations)

Note that I expect that Wizards will keep printing new Trebuchets, given their recent fondness for the effect. As such, this deck should continue to become more and more consistent over time as I swap them in.

That said, we've already hit a critical mass; it's very common to draw at least one or two throughout the game. And even if not, the various untappers can ramp / many of the creatures with triggered abilities are quite powerful in their own right.

Here's a list of upgrades / extra additions that you can add if you're willing to spend a bit more:
