Stop! This is the Human/Frog Security

Commander / EDH BGW (Abzan, Junk)

Todesflatulenz

Thalia and Gitrog is a super versitile Commander - there are lots of possible ways of deckbuilding. Here is why I chose the Superfriends-Theme:

  • Planeswalker are the strongest, when they enter a mostly empty battlefield. So the idea here is to push this deck with 1 and 2-Mana Ramp spells, to higher the chance of bringing Thalia and Gitrog Turn 3.

  • The "Exploration"-effect allows to immediately bring a 2nd land on Turn 3 (Bounce-Lands like Golgari Rot Farm are very welcome here). Turn 4 you can bring again 2 Lands and pay 6 or 7 Mana for your Planeswalker - protected by a first strike + deathtouch creature --> to make this possible I have to run that many lands and chose only land-Ramp spells.

  • The alternative route would be to empty the board with some mass destruction as like Pernicious Deed, Toxic Deluge or Farewell. They fit well to the land-theme. Mass destruction is also possible with few planeswalkers as like The Eternal Wanderer or Ugin, the Spirit Dragon.

  • Plan "C" is winning in the lategame with Eerie Ultimatum or Finale of Devastation.

  • Two very good cards here: Arena Rector - ideal for the attack/sac effect and Evolution Sage - combined with fetchies and multiple landfalls / Crucible of Worlds you can unlock an ultimate very fast here. Those creatures are mostly the target for Worldly Tutor.

Mentionable cuts

  • Sol Ring: I commit heavy to the land-ramp plan. So there is just no slot for Sol Ring - as crazy as it sounds :)

  • Demonic Tutor: You could play this in EVERY black deck - but I think thats a bit boring, so I decided to cut it here. It's a very personal decision. If you want to push the powerlevel, I would very much suggest to play it!

Conclusion Ramp, hatepiece and firststrike+deathtouch combined in one commander seems to me very well fitting for this theme.
