Intro (What is this deck trying to do?)

This deck tries to fill graveyard with big creatures (="beaters") and then reanimate them. The original ideas (and card selection) came from this deck - Budget Commander: $69 Sauron, the Dark Lord by Tomer Abramovici.

Is this the best way to build Sauron, the Dark Lord?

I am not sure .. I do not know at all. I want to test the reanimator build and let's see if it's fun.

Deckbuilding limitations

I want to play this deck against other casual decks, therefore there are:

• no infinite combos
• no tutors to my hand with CMC <3
• no free spells (no cards like Force of Will / Fierce Guardianship / ...)
• no mana positive mana rocks (no rocks that provide more mana then they cost, the only exception is Sol Ring)
• no salty cards that make other player not play the game (no Winter Orb, no Opposition Agent, ...)

Current state

I played only a few games with this deck so far. Based on this experience, I need to make the deck run a little bit faster and to add some cheaper reanimate spells. The current amount of cards may be below, or over 100, it's work in progress. Maybe I will break some deck limitation rules to make it faster (fast mana, free spells) because of my current meta.

• Entomb - one of the best tutors to your graveyard

Land choices

• Barad-dur - provides {B} and Amass
• Mines of Moria - provides {R} and sometimes it helps you to build some mana
• Otawara, Soaring City - provides {U} or removal if needed
• Path of Ancestry - provides any mana and sometimes scary (there is currently 5 avatars + the commander to trigger the scry)
• Port of Karfell - ETB always tapped, but serves as reanimate spell if needed
• Rivendell - provides {U} and scry
• The Black Gate - provides {B}, ETB untapped (if needed) and provides evasion (good for the Orc Army or for the commander ...)
• Tomb Fortress - ETB tapped, but provides {B} and servers as reanimate spell
