{W}{U}{B}{G} 4c Pile / Bant Loam {W}{U}{B}{G}

This is a sans-{R} deck based off my Bant Loam decklist, with some substitutions for price reduction. There are some additions in this version of the deck that are just from my time of playing historic on MTGA. Deck is mainly Simic and ties an otherwise bad pile together with card draw and ramp. Most of the lands package as described in the other primers is intact here.

Main Gameplan/Synergies/Combo

Witherbloom Apprentice

Chain of Smog + Witherbloom Apprentice is a 2 card combo. Targeting yourself, you discard until hand is empty and continue to copy, targeting yourself. Folds to any counterspell cast after the hand becomes empty.

Lands Package

Playing a number of utility lands that can be recurred with Life from the Loam or Crucible of Worlds. Payoffs like Felidar Retreat exist alongside enablers like Kodama of the East Tree and Splendid Reclamation.

Land-based combos like Dark Depths + Thespian's Stage is a thing, and Field of the Dead can grind long-term with the slow fetches that I run.

One note about the lands base. Due to the recurring nature of how this deck wants to use lands and fetches, lands with basic land types become really important. Also because of Hermit Druid combo we are not including basic lands.

Hermit Druid Combo

Hermit Druid + Sevinne's Reclamation + Thassa's Oracle - Mill deck with Hermit Druid for {G}, and flashback Sevinne's for {4}{W}, reanimating Oracle to win. If Sevinne's is countered well you're out of luck. Sticking Thassa's first allows you to Hermit in response to the trigger going on the stack.

Other Gameplan/Synergies/Combo

Aetherworks Marvel

There's a lot of random high CMC stuff in this deck so a card like Aetherworks Marvel to cheat things out makes sense. Marvel has an acceidental synergy with Life from the Loam and fetchlands/wasteland as recurring sac-lands feeds marvel.

Emergent Ultimatum

Emergent Ultimatum for 3 mono-colored value pieces can get us moving fast. Picking Omniscience + Triumphant Reckoning as 2 of the cards gives you an Omniscience 100% of the time. That or you can guarantee getting 2 other cards because Omniscience will pretty much never not be picked.
