They had to do it. They had to go and ban the best card in modern.

Oh well, just means EDH is that much more precious. Karador is the commander because who better to command an army of spirits that never die? The main theme is much like the Ex-modern deck (value them with etb triggers and death triggers, always getting better creatures than their creatures) with an infinite combo nested in there, easily accessed whenever the game needs to end. There is a sub theme of land discard/sacing, mostly supported by manlands getting saced to pod.
