Maybeboard

First EDH deck I made. Still kicking.

So when I first got into EDH, I really didnt know where to start. It was my first attempt at a 100 card singleton deck, and it seemed a very daunting task to enable synergies across 100 different cards. However I had already been a long time sliver player and it was not long before I put 1 and 1 together and realised that making a sliver EDH deck was probably the easiest way of getting into the format.

Slivers are not the most competitive of EDH decks, and unfortunately for Slivers, the better players who realise this are probably running very good decks(better than slivers), while the players who dont will probably be targeting the sliver player first because "Slivers are Scary". So depending on your playgroups skill, you will generally be hated out first by newer players, or just outgunned by more advanced players, its kinda a lose/lose scenario. But they are fun to play, and short of meathooks/counterslivers coming back soon, this is the closest I can get to the joy of playing them back in the day.

This deck wins via aggro, commander damage, or comb so it does not get shoe-holed into one style of play and can adapt to various opponents decks and strategies. With Overlord as my commander it also allows a Toolbox style of reactive play that further ups the adaptable nature of the deck, something that is both very helpful, and very true to the slivers lore.

As with all of my decks, I attempt not to add any "Goodstuffs" cards unless they fit the theme of the deck. With a dozen or so EDH decks in action, if I ran a lot of Goodstuff cards in them, then there would be little difference between them and it would defeat the purpose of having so many decks to play. I also tend to run few-to-none of tutors(Aside from Overlord being my commander...) as I have found it more enjoyable to play my 100 card singleton deck with a bit more variability. Its kind of one of the points of the format after all.

Nifty Synergies that I Enjoy

Venom Sliver - This guy combos quite well with a ton of cards in this deck, and I wish Toxin Sliver was printed when deathtouch was a keyword, cause he would be in here too. Anyway, combine Venom Sliver with Striking Sliver, Bonescythe Sliver, and Fury Sliver for some great deterrent against attack, or with Thorncaster Sliver , Quilled Sliver , Acidic Sliver for targeted removal.

Reconnaissance - This is probably one of the most underrated cards out there and it never ceases to amaze me how few people know about it, or at least how to use it properly. First off it allows for extreemly aggresive play, as you are free to attack every turn without losing creatures, and since the rules changes you can now untap your creatures after they have dealt damage. Basically vigilance with the added bonus of taking no combat losses. Combine recon with Thorncaster Sliver , Quilled Sliver or Leeching Sliver in order to get free direct damage/targeted removal each turn, or Magma Sliver for big damage. Recon with Striking Sliver, Bonescythe Sliver, Fury Sliver in order to do first strike damage to blockers before being untapped and taking none in return.
