I've been playing off and on since 97. I own over 40 finished decks, and another dozen or so in the works. I'm a deck building addict.

I play everything from competitive modern and legacy to kitchen table and EDH, and enjoy them all for different reasons.

As a deck building aficionado, I always enjoy a good debate about a deck, and find it a great way to look at cards in a new light. Having a good discussion about the pros and cons of a card for a deck, is one of my favorite pastimes.

If you would like me to view your deck, just shoot me a message and I'd love to.

Haha, yeah, Pelican cases are the shit! :D Unfortunately they are also ridiculously expensive, hahaha! I was hoping for maybe something a little more budget friendly, < $100 hopefully :P The problem with the cooler is that generally the lids are not watertight should they go in the water :( Thanks though!

Hey all! So I live on an island, and take a small open boat to-and-from shore for Magic nights, and Im always worried about carrying thousands of dollars of water soluble cards back and forth like this.

Im wondering if anyone else has had the need for waterproof carrying cases, and if so, what did you end up using?

Thanks in advance! :D

I think people who build block cubes may be doing so for that 'nostalgia' you yourself are aiming for, or for flavour, rather than because they are lazy or uncreative. :)

Im slightly unclear on the reasoning against In Garruk's Wake, Plague Wind and Time Stretch.

One reasoning you said against Time stretch is because:

"If we have Jodah + (5) Then let's cast something to win, this is often a card with no impact, We either lose a card slot or play with no super big impact and then win like we were anyway".

You only have 3 'big impact' wincons listed T&N, Omni, and Enter Infinite that you would use Jodahs ability on, and yes, you would cast one of those instead if you had one in hand, but that can be said about any wincon in any deck, its better to just win than take extra turns. But thats not always possible, especially when you only have three of those things to be in hand. Easily turorable, yes, but that takes mana that would bite into your 5 colors, meaning you wouldnt be able to activate that turn. But Time stretch gives you 2 extra turns, one to turtor for whatever you need, and the other to activate Jodah and win. And even if you dont have a tutor in hand or a wincon, you get 2 more turns to draw into one.

As for the mass removal:

" we need Jodah and to cast but why would we wipe the board and kill Jodah - Dead cards that really don't help us ever"

Except that they do not kill Jodah. Thats why those cards are great is because they only kill your opponents creatures, leaving an empty field for Jodah to play around in. :)

chromiumthemutable Yeah that post you linked was from 2013. It was changed in like 2015. You should bitch at your bro 'cause I think he tried to pull a fast one on you :P

Heres a link to a newer ruling: http://www.starcitygames.com/article/30542_Tuck.html

chromiumthemutable 'Tuck' effects like hinder have not worked on commanders for a few years now. There was a rules change that allows you to put your commander in the command zone if it would get shuffled into your library.

Its a bit of a one trick pony for casual, and boderline T2 but probably T3 against most competitive metas.

Cast spells that cost more than 5 with a lot of mana fixing instead.

Jodah in a nutshell.

Ouroboros_47 Thanks for the suggestions!

Not so sold on Semblance Anvil as it represents card disadvantage and is not a creature. I think Helm of Awakening is slightly better here as it fills a 2 drop slot, leaving 3 drops for, as you said 'more impactful' cards.

I was considering Master of Etherium, but it is a bit of a nombo with meekstone. I could probably drop the stone for the Masters though to give the deck a little more kick though, you are right.

Great call on the Ballista/Walker! Ill def have to stick them in as a 0 spot! :D

I wish I could justify spending the 150$ on Ravagers, but for a casual deck :'(

Im not sure if I want to add an additional color to the deck in order to run Disciple, but it would add an additional win method. Not like the deck is super color hungry anyway :P

Thanks again bud! :D

Hornets nest isnt a wall, but it is a defender.

So Ive been toying around with an artifact concept for quite a while now, and they have recently printed some new love for the idea, so Im hoping to be able to throw something together with all the new toys!

Heres my deck list start: Fun Free Facts

The goal of the deck is to make 'facts cheap/free, and swarm the board with guys that refuse to stay dead. Thats the current plan at least, but if you have another angle the deck could take, let me know.

I was half-assedly hoping to figure out some way to abuse Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle and Shardless Agent, but couldnt really come up with much. But if you guys have any sneaky ideas, Id love to hear them!

Any ideas, suggestions, thoughts, or criticisms are greatly appreciated :D
