DISCLAIMER: I am relatively new to EDH and have had very little interaction with MtG in general. I played about 15 years ago and not much since. The group I play with isn't super competitive.

This deck is all about making the best value from Edgar Markov.The mana curve for the creatures is kept on the low end to make immediate use of the emminence ability.The deck makes use of a few different spells to power up or protect the creatures; cards such as Boros Charm or Mass Hysteria , as well as Metallic Mimic and Stensia Masquerade .

This is a creature based deck and suffers to board wipes. The low curve for creatures helps mitigate this but Patriarch's Bidding can really help later in the game.

Edgar's colour identity allows multiple useful tutors to be included and while there are only 2 combos in the deck these allow a player to search for cards that can help in a given situation. The aim here is to maximise value from each turn and deal with threats as efficiently as possible.

The 2 combos both include Sanguine Bond . The first is Blood Tribute + Sanguine Bond , this combo will eliminate a single player providing the kicker cost is paid for Blood Tribute.The second combo is Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond + a damage source. This combo becomes infinite if a source you control deals damage to an opponent. If this combo goes uninterrupted it should eliminate all opponents.

The sub-theme for the deck is based on effects like Blood Artist. These can become a win condition later in the game when life totals get low but mainly act as a deterrent for opponents killing your creatures via board wipes. This means that anything with a similar effect will inevitably become a target for single target removal but this has the added benefit of protecting your other creatures from such removal spells.

This version of the deck is testing the new vampires released in Ixalan.
