That is correct, a Skizzik was not kicked if it is returned via undying, or any other way of it entering without being cast like Cloudshift etc.

Okay buddy here we go!

I think we need to fix a lot of things here. Ramp is an easy fix, we'll get some more instant/sorceries that get lands because they are safest. Then we'll work on getting more counters on Hallar in more efficient ways. We'll also swap out some of your kicker spells for other kicker spells that do better things.

So with all that I hope you're mana will be more consistant and your draw will be more powerful, then you'll be able to dump more counters on Hallar and snipe some wins. If not, your kicker spells will have more impact because they'll draw or remove or ramp. Focus on the 2cmc ramp cards, then swap out the kicker spells, then get those draw cards in there.

I still think Havoc Festival may have a home in this deck. It essentially guarantees a 1-hit KO if you make it to your upkeep with your general in play due to the insane amount of damage Greven gains from the life loss. Even if they kill your general before you can swing, it's halving everyone's life total in 1 turn around the board. Since this seems to be a somewhat mid-range deck, it certainly can bring life totals into more reasonable ranges.

For the same reason as above, perhaps Infernal Contract , Fraying Omnipotence , Doomsday (lol), Cruel Bargain , and Heartless Hidetsugu could be useful in buffing old Greven.

For card draw, perhaps Ball Lightning , Skizzik , and Lightning Skelemental ?

I took a similar version of this deck (adding 2x Verix Bladewing and 2x Lathliss, Dragon Queen while removing 2x Captain Lannery Storm and 2x draw cards) to my local FNM and finished 2-2. It's a fun deck and being able to swing with Charging Monstrosaur or Skizzik on turn 3 always caught my opponents by surprise.

That being said, there were times I felt I needed more burn, more draw power, or more mana.

  1. For wide/aggro decks, I think I will need to have Shock and Fiery Cannonade side-boarded. This extra burn can help keep the field clean until turn 5-6 when I have more large creatures summoned.

  2. I am too cheap to buy Risk Factor and used 2x Tormenting Voice instead. Probably not as good, but it works well enough. I will run 3-4x Tormenting Voice in the future.

  3. I was using 22 lands which was admittedly too low. 23-24 lands seem to be a necessity for this deck.

The other problem I encountered involved Goblin Instigator. I understand his synergy with Skirk Prospector, but it felt I was more often playing Goblin Instigator for two 1/1 blockers, rather than a mana source. Because it only matches with one other card in the deck, I may remove Goblin Instigator entirely.

I would put Vine Mare in the sideboard, together with Lightning Mare and exclude Spit Flame and Fight with Fire. As for your instants, I would exchange the Shock cards for Lightning Strike and put the others in the sideboard as well. Other creatures to consider would be Grunn, the Lonely King, Skizzik, Untamed Kavu, or Verix Bladewing. What would work well would then be the enchantments Sarkhan's Unsealing and Colossal Majesty. Maybe not all the creature cards are preferable in your deck but it was just some examples :) Imo more creatures, since that's the best thing with green! I'm no expert though so take it with a pinch of salt

Seems like the deck rides and dies hard by getting a good starting hand. Maybe add more consistency with adding additional effects like Fling is still currently standard legal. Also Skizzik could be a fling target that people wont generally block. Wily Goblin also helps mana accelerate without a Skirk Prospector for a turn three Inferno Hellion.

Other suggestions to make a more rounded deck is you can go one of two options. #1 is a steal and sac outlet deck by adding additional effects like Kari Zev's Expertise, Hijack, Act of Treason, or Captivating Crew to go with your fling and Thud effects. If you need more sac outlets Dark-Dweller Oracle or Hazoret's Favor fit into the deck theme and seem pretty janky.

Option #2 - drop thud and Inferno Hellion plan and go all in goblins. Currently there are Metallic Mimic, Goblin Warchief, Goblin Trashmaster and Siege-Gang Commander all standard legal.

I would remove Volley Veteran (if you go option 1), Lightning Mare, Fervent Strike to make room for some of the suggestions.

welp id suggest making it faster, dump the Flame of keld for 4x Bomat Courier and put in atleast 3x Skizzik (its in dominaria and its haste with trample. or maybe some Lathnu Hellion
