Okay buddy here we go!

I think we need to fix a lot of things here. Ramp is an easy fix, we'll get some more instant/sorceries that get lands because they are safest. Then we'll work on getting more counters on Hallar in more efficient ways. We'll also swap out some of your kicker spells for other kicker spells that do better things.

Cards to look at:

Cards to maybe cut

So with all that I hope you're mana will be more consistant and your draw will be more powerful, then you'll be able to dump more counters on Hallar and snipe some wins. If not, your kicker spells will have more impact because they'll draw or remove or ramp. Focus on the 2cmc ramp cards, then swap out the kicker spells, then get those draw cards in there.

Here's a Deck you can also look at

The only reason Savage Offensive made the list is because it's a cheap-ish way of triggering Hallar. Kicker spells in Gruul are pretty limited as is and I want the capability of consistent Kicker triggers. I will however simply swap Offensive with a copy of Dictate of the Twin Gods for testing sake.

Regarding Evolutionary Escalation I know it's a double edged sword but through playing it in my current group has yielded promising results. If there were another card capable of granting counters as fast as EE does then I'd gladly swap it out.

Howling Mine could probably be switched out for Rishkar's Expertise so thank you for that suggestion. Definitely could be a card advantage monster.

Honestly I totally forgot Temur Sabertooth was a thing. When I was looking for Bounce effects in my colors I didn't think to check effects. Definitely an easy swap

I super appreciate your feedback and suggestions mate, I really like this deck and getting fleshed out and polished is my goal.

Ah, right you are I was just going off the top of my head, forgot that one was combat damage.

At first pass my gut tells me Savage Offensive since like you said you aren't worried about combat damage much, could probably go.

And Evolutionary Escalation is a card that has made for some headaches when I ran it in the past. When its good its good, but giving folks the means to come at me with giant creatures wasn't always great.

other than that, along those same lines, i haven't had much luck with Howling Mine type effects unless im playing to abuse them. giving your opponents cards is rarely going to help you out, and don't be surprised if someone draws off of it and then destroys it before you can even use it :)

Rishkar's Expertise has quickly become my favorite green draw spell.

Also if you are noticing the deck is a little creature light you could swap out Blood Clock for Temur Sabertooth. One of the best bounce cards green can offer.

sorry about that, I had forgotten to unclick the "private" button from when I was working on it. Link should work for you now.

I played three matches with it yesterday on Xmage. The first against green stompy, I went 2-0 and was able to out-stomp stompy as he was trying to get out lots of cheap shroud guys, but I was able to go wide and take him down.

Second match was against U/B control, and I went 0-2. I got him down a lot in both games, but he had enough counter and kill spells to win game two, and an early shrivel (all creatures get -1/-1 at instant speed) shut me down game two.

The third match was against a 4-5 color Fling-Atog deck. I took a huge 14-hit swing in game one, but was still able to win, and in game two I just swarmed over him for the win!

I must say, the deck is a BLAST to play! it comes out of the gate swinging, and I love how resilient the deck is with sprout swarm able to keep pumping out tokens when I have nothing else in hand! main tweaks I made were to put in 4 lightning bolts, add the essence warden to the main, and put the druid's deliverance in the side. still have plenty of testing to go, but I am really considering building this in paper to play in my local meta!

I'm considering removing some of the high-end creatures and adding some massive pump spells like Violent Outburst, Path of Anger's Flame, Rites of Initiation, Battle Frenzy, Banners Raised, and Savage Offensive as quicker finishers since it can pump out a lot of tokens. We'll have to see after more testing!
