How about some cost reduction to speed up the deck: like Baral, Chief of Compliance, Curious Homunculus  Flip, or maybe the new card Primal Amulet  Flip - after flipped all your spells get copied helping you take all the turns.

Hey Epajula, thanks for the shout out on the other Rafiq page. I enjoyed looking at your deck and forgot about Balan, Wandering Knight. I will have to add him to mine.

One little unknown equipment that is amazing with double strike is Kusari-Gama. It basically makes your creature unblockable or can one-sided wrath an opponent. My friends hate it more than the swords.

Has anyone ever recommended Bloodghast and Blasting Station? The station combos with both bloodghast and gravecrawler really well.

It works better with gravecrawler as it turns each swamp into a Flame JabWith bloodghasts you can sacrifice in response to each ETB after a land drop until they have haste.

I like the Madness Vampire route that was in standard (don't know if it holds up in modern): Insolent Neonate, Falkenrath Gorger, Stromkirk Condemned, Asylum Visitor, Olivia's Dragoon, Olivia, Mobilized for War, and Voldaren Pariah  Flip as the finisher. Combining them with bloodghasts and additional card advantage can be pretty aggresive.

I understand its a different deck build, but maybe some of these cards can ignite some ideas.

I have a Rafiq with Swords build which might have been like your old offensive deck. The allstars of my deck are the ones that have triggers when they deal combat damage like: Augury Adept, Cephalid Constable, Cold-Eyed Selkie, Daring Saboteur, Daxos of Meletis, Thada Adel, Acquisitor, and Medomai the Ageless - with double strike all their triggers happen twice :-)

Also you should consider Stonehewer Giant cause you can attack then tutor and equip for two mana!!

I see that you have a Blue Emrakul's apostles deck so you can leave the red in this one and test out which is better the Red package or the blue with Telling time, scheming, and C.plan...

Some difficulty I had in play testing is that after I removed the Apostles I had a hard time hitting a shelldock.

Maybe include tutors like Tolaria West, Beseech the Queen, or Expedition Map can help find them?

How do you feel about Lost Legacy? replaces the Apostles removed from your hand with new cards?

Like the deck idea. Too bad Mana Severance isn't modern legal..The deck doesnt seems to have a problem getting apostles in the graveyard. How often do you successfully find a shelldock and then hit an Emrakul?

if you going to pay 2 at sorcery speed than Cathartic Reunion is better than Tormenting Voice, or How about something like Telling Time, Index, Taigam's Scheming or Contingency Plan that can help you stack the deck the turn you want to play shelldock isle? scheming or plan also help get shadowborn apostle in the graveyard.

have bloodstained mire up to 4x and add 4xWooded Foothills and / or Scalding Tarn (if no budget) and drop your pain lands down to 2 of each type. This will help thin the deck a few more cards prior to shelldock

1) Lower Grapeshot to 1-2x as you don't want it in your opening hand and only want to see it comboing out

2) Simian Spirit Guide is better than Desperate Ritual or Pyretic Ritual as it can be used on turn 1 and still nets 1 mana like the other spells. I understand if the guide is not a budget choice. Its still all about getting double blue to cast dream halls. maybe High Tide might be better....?

3) Not to keen on Saprazzan Skerry or Sandstone Needle, how has your experience been with them?

4) Improve Card Draw - 1st you need draw to find the dream halls, then there's a high chance for stalling as most your card draw doesn't net any card advantage after paying the discard cost. reconsider draw cards that net 1-2 cards after replace itself and discarding to cast: keeping budget in mind because ancestral recall/visions would be good.

Jace's Ingenuity, Tidings, Careful Consideration, Opportunity, Concentrate, Mystic Confluence, Overflowing Insight

Foresee, Ugin's Insight - cycle away lands to ensure what you draw is good

or more wheel effects like Reforge the Soul or Wheel of Fate. Personally I think commit//memory could work as you can pitch Commit to cast something and then cast Memory from the grave.

5) Lastly, maybe add 1x Enter the Infinite, Omniscience or Swarm Intelligence for after you get a dream halls to ensure you don't stall

I would remove Learn from the Past since you have ulamog you don't have to worry about decking yourself. Also Day's Undoing does not work with your general as the effect to end the turn stops any damage on the stack from Nekusar.

With all the wheel effects, I would try adding more effects that work with discard or from the graveyard: Geistblast, Shattered Perception, Call to the Netherworld, Dark Withering, Megrim, Liliana's Caress, Raiders' Wake

Collective Defiance, Dragon Wizard , Barbed Shocker, Shocker, and Robber Fly are additional discard/draw effects for opponents.

Are you looking to build a more mid-range or aggro style deck? a friend of mine went 4-0 going aggro at the pre-lease weekend.

going aggro I suggest a combination of: Kumena's Speaker, Siren Stormtamer, Deeproot Warrior, Merfolk Branchwalker, River Sneak, Shaper Apprentice, Vineshaper Mystic and River Heralds' Boon

The Vineshaper is a must.

I prefer Tempest Caller over Herald of Secret Streams as it allows all your creatures to get through for an alpha strike not just ones with counters (thought a lot of your creatures will)

Removing: Shaper's Sanctuary, Deeproot Waters, Heroic Intervention (side board), Overcome (too slow) and re-adjusting lands appropriately.

I went to a sealed box tourney this weekend and made an insane naya dino deck.I had Carnage Tyrant, 2x Drover of the Mighty 2x Otepec Huntmaster, 1x Rampaging Ferocidon, 1x Regisaur Alpha, 1x Ripjaw Raptor, 3x Savage Stomp, 4x Commune with Dinosaurs, Kinjalli's Sunwing and Priest of the Wakening Sun 2x Territorial Hammerskull, 2x Ranging Raptors, 2x Steadfast Armasaur and Huatli, Warrior Poet with 16 lands with 2 Unclaimed Territory

What I learned is that a turn 3 hasty Ripjaw Raptor is pretty hard to beat. So is a hasty turn 4 carnage tyrant.

Commune with dinosaurs is amazing and should be banned. It helped fix my mana, find ripjaw, regisaur, or tyrant. So at least one of theses bombs came out each game I played. I did have to tuck the planeswalker one time, and pass on the tyrant to get a plains on turn 1, but only 2 bad experiences when I casted it easily 15x this weekend is well worth it. I am sorry I recommended removing it before.

stomp the yard + ripjaw is insanely good. 1 mana cantrip removal spells that leave a +1/+1 counter, and you get to still attack.

Rampaging Ferocidon under performed, sometimes stopping me from gaining life with the priest, and because of having mana reduction/ acceleration there were other cards I preferred to cast on turn 3. It felt like a win more card that would come down later when I was already winning and was really bad when played while losing.

Turn 1 priest is hard to race, I had two games where I won with 30+ life to 0. I never needed to tutor due to the commune.

I went 4 - 0 (8 - 1 individual matches) only losing one game to the mirror match where they had a Regisaur Alpha, Huatli, warrior poet, and more Charging Monstrosaur and Raging Swordtooths than I could stomp out.

So my recommendations is remove 2 Rampaging Ferocidon and up Ripjaw raptor to 4. My white package was pretty solid but not needed. I did enjoy kinjalli's sunwing as watching my opponents try to find blockers to have them come into play tapped and get stomped the turn after they untap to block is rather cruel.

This deck is going to be fun to pilot!!!
