Under Construction

As of 08/07/19, Paradox Engine was banned. What does this mean for the captain of the Weatherlight? Her wincons in a staxier list become more convoluted and harder to assemble. Long ago, people spoke of the prophecy of the KCI, an artifact of untold potential, but were disregard because of the immediate security the Engine provided. But when the Engine was gone, people turned to an old powerhouse.

Long story short, the ban of Engine kind of killed Stax-Control Jhoira. We should move to KCI because it's the best of what's left even if we can't prey on graveyard decks anymore because we need to use it for combos.

KCI Loops

Establish the normal KCI loop with Myr Retriever+Scrap Trawler for infinite mana. Weird rulings allow you to Sac Retriever, and bring it back as well as a <2 cmc artifact to cast from the mana generated with KCI. This generates infinite colourless mana. Generating infinite mana this way also draws your deck due to myr retriever trigger putting it on hand, so be careful.

One of the payoffs is Pyrite Spellbomb as an outlet that also combos within the KCI Loops (1 Cost that brings back 0 cost used for mana with KCI).

Twister loops with lots of mana

Discontinued but stil viable

So you wanna extend the game far longer than needed to? Watch your opponents shuffle their hands and deck multiple times when you assemble Timetwister with Codex Shredder after getting infinite mana with KCI or IsoRev combo. Cast Codex Shredder, then Twist and Shout, get Codex Shredder back with ??? while casting other things. What wincon you choose after this is up to you. Dangerous because of giving people answers, also pretty unnecessary.

Drafna's Restoration loops with lots of mana

Like the previous loop, but instead of twistering and giving others a fresh hand for them to interact with you, you can sac all your artifacts to KCI and then replay them again from the top of your deck for a ton of Storm triggers and mana. Also helps that Drafna's is 15 bucks compared to the 3k of Twister.

Aetherflux

Ever heard of the balanced Storm mechanic? Same thing here. Cast fishbowl, cast a lot of artifacts and laserbeam people to death. Different order of Storm spells, same result.

Urza with lots of mana

So you didn't find Aetherflux before? Well, generate infinite mana, activate Urza the amount of your deck, proceed to bounce Jhoira to not lose to card draw, cast aetherflux and lastly, cast your deck to win by laserbeaming your opponents. Or KCI Combo. Or Words of Wind. Or even Twister loops because Lulz. The world is your oyster. Just add lemon juice. Or not.

Words of Wind

Not looking for complicated wincons? Alright. Here's the easiest: with words of wind on the board, cast a positive rock (meaning that it produces more mana than its cmc), replace Jhoira's draw trigger with Words of Wind by paying 1 and bounce one of your other mana positive rocks. Repeat until your opponents have no permanents and you still have everything. This is repeatable every turn. Technically its not a hard wincon but it's very hard to come back from that and 99.999% of the people will concede on the spot.

Mystic + Top

With a Forge in play, a mana discounter and top, you proceed to draw your deck without even needing Jhoira. Be aware that this can mill you out if you have her out as well since you draw twice for each time you do the interaction with Top.

Walking Ballista

So you still haven't found that outlet from the infinite mana? Cast a ballista with X = infinity and beyond and ping people to death. This is a pretty hard to execute wincon since by the point you have all the pieces you'll pretty much have found another wincon. But if you haven't, here's the Dork Killer tm to land you another W.

Beats with tokens

Speaking of hard wincons, this is BY FAR the hardest to execute in this deck. What this means? Go in with Sai and/or Urza tokens. I only see this scenario being possible if someone has a Null Rod and only use it as plan Z. Very reliable against Ad Naus/Necro players, tho. Get in there, fight!
