cEDH Zacama, Primal Calamity

Ever since the guys over at The Command Zone spoiled this beauty a few weeks ago Ive been trying to find a home for him, and figured, what better place for a big beefy than the format made for big beef?

Now my Local Meta happens to be a rather competitive one, so I designed the deck to fit such.

Goal:

So all in all its a combo deck, it plays Stax elements but only to fend for the first few turns before its able to go off, and it WILL go off. It can be rather tool boxy with all the creature fetch and hate cards as you would expect from any deck in this spectrum.

As is the general consensus from what Ive seen is Zacama is good with any Wake effect. So thats exactly what we do, we play around 7 Wake Effects, 5 of which are enchantments, and 2 of which are Symetrical. There are more we could run but I found that running more that the 2 three mana symmetrical doublers was more beneficial to the opponent that to us. Please note: if you are dropping one of those 2, you better be winning that turn or be able to defend yourself until next turn.

In order to Facilitate these effects we run a lot of cheap ramp, LAND ramp to be exact, another thing to note: Zacama doesnt Untap artifacts so we get very little benefit to running the full cEDH artifact sweep. I personally play chrome mox specifically because it allows for very early card play but a lotus petal would have the same effect.

Combos:

Now we have the lands, and the Wake effect, what do we do with all this mana? Well there are a few things you can do. Zacama Goes infinite with the help of 2 cards in the deck, Cloudstone Curio and Temur Sabertooth. Both of these Cards have a similar effect on Zacama, they both allowe you to play your Zacama multiple times in one turn by abusing your mana production alongside Zamamas etb trigger. With the cat you need at least 12 mana to go infinite, and with Curio you need at least 1 more mana than Zacama and whatever creature you use combined cmc.With the infinite cast trigger, etb and mana, you can Use all of Your commanders abilities an infinite number of times, use cards like Selvala and Glimpse to draw your deck, use Genesis Wave to play your deck, or use Purphoros or Impact Tremors to kill your opponents outrite.Furthermore, we play all naya iterations of Kiki, and food chain combo which works with Zacama in a similar fashion as his own combos.

Stax and Protection:

Now In these colors you can play any number of very efficent Stax cards and hatebears, I personally decided to go with a more proactive route and only play the Stax peices that really define the game, Stony Silence is an all star most of the time, RiP is handy. This is an area that Im not sure I should focus more on or keep as is, so far its felt fine.As for protection, you really dont want Zacama to get countered, him dying isnt a big deal its the not getting to untap your lands part you want to avoid, so we play all the MY TURN! Cards in the form of Dosan, Dromaka, and Abolisher. we also have some counter the counter-magic In prowling serpopard, REB and fireblast, Ive also considered playing Vexing Susher but Im not sure yet.

Land:

I like where it is at, if I could fit in a Cavern of Souls and Gaeas I would but I havent figured that out yet, Winding Canyons is a surprising all-star in this deck as it allows you to combo at instant speed.
