Maybeboard

Archon of Emeria is for combo decks.

Archon of Valor's reach pulls a surpising amount of weight. It shuts down superfriends decks, Spellslinger decks like God-Eternal Kefnet and Latrand, Enchantress, Any artifact-centered deck like Sydri or Urza. It's riduculous how many decks rely heavily on a specific card type.

Avacyn, Angel of Hope adds a layer of protection and counts as a win condition.

Aven Mindcensor.

Collector Ouphe not only stops mana rocks, it also shuts down equipment like Skullclamp, Lightning Greaves, and Swiftfoot Boots. Other common artifacts it shuts down include Staff of Domination, Golos, and Burnished Hart.

Containment Priest isn't as good as Stone Cloaker or Scavenging Ooze at stopping Graveyard shenanigans. After all, plenty of cards let you cast cards from your graveyard. My fist argument for Containment Priest is redundancy. Graveyard shenanigans are so common that having a 3rd hate bear for this particular strategy is worthwhile. But that alone isn't enough to warrant this card's inclusion. Containment Priest does things that Stonecloaker and Scavenging Ooze don't do. It stops cards like Kaalia, Ilharg, Zara, Sneak Attack, and many more. Seeing as how 3 of the 4 cards just mentioned are staples of the newly printed and popular Obeka, you can bet this card will see some action.

Drannith Magistrate doesn't just stop graveyard centric cards like Karador and Muldrotha. It stops Golos's ability and even prevents people from casting their commanders!

Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite. What else is there to say about this card other than it can just wipe the board. Any deck that goes wide. All the drakes from a Talrand deck. All the elves from an Ezuri or other elf centered deck. All the mana dorks from, well, a deck like this one. It's just randomly useful in so many unexpected situations.

Fauna Shaman adds consistency. In a deck filled with silver bullets, being able to get rid of the irrelevant ones in your hand for the relevant ones in your deck more often is key.

Hushbringer and Hushwing Gryff hose a lot of cards, a lot of them in this deck. Be careful when playing with these. They are, however, just too good not to run, as they can shut down entire decks by themselves. Sun titan, Karmic Guide, Eternal Witness, Everything in a Roon or Prime Speaker Vannifar deck. Honestly, just look at your favorite deck and count how many ETB and death triggers you have on creatures.

Linvala, Keeper of Silence shuts down decks that rely heavily on mana dorks as well as popular cards like Golos, Karn, Obeka, Aurami, Kenrith, and Sisay.

Mangara, the Diplomat is another one of those soft hate bears that, rather than locking things down, a-symmetrically punishes your opponents for playing magic. It's mostly there to draw you a ton of cards and to make your opponents thing twice about attacking you.

Peacekeeper, more reliable than Windborn Muse, cheaper than Blazing Archon and, unlike the two cards just mentioned, can be searched by Recruiter of the Guard, can trigger Mentor of the Meek, and can be returned with Sun Titan.

Platinum Angel, for when you're close to victory but need just a little more time. When your opponent tries to win with Maze's end. But most importantly, to demoralize your opponents in to conceding in combination with Avacyn.

Ramunap Excavator is mostly there for the value. Occasionally, though, you may find yourself using it in combination with Oracle of Mul Daya and a Strip Mine/Wasteland. This is especially good against colorless Eldrazi decks.

Recruiter of the Guard searches many of the deck's silver bullets and can be cast under Gaddock. In the absence of needing a silver bullet, searching for a Mentor of the Meek is usually quite good.

Runic Armasaur; I was very skeptical when I added this to the deck, especially since I can't tutor it with Recruiter of the Guard. Still, it's a solid blocker and punishes opponent's without punishing me, so I tried it out. Turns out, this card with just randomly draw you a boat load of cards in some situations. Definitely a worthwhile silver bullet. Why draw a ton of cards when you can just stop people from using the abilities with Linvala? Redundancy. Also, sometimes people use a lot of non-mana activated land abilities.

Scavenging Ooze doesn't really need any explanation. Just very solid and efficient graveyard hate.

Shalai, Voice of Plenty is proactive anti-hate hate. That is to say, Gaddock (and other hate bears, but mostly Gaddock) get targeted with targeted removal all the time in the hopes that the player casting the removal can finally "go off" and make their game winning play or a the very least, situation changing play. Often times, this is exactly what happens when Gaddock is taken off the table. Shalai provides another layer of defense against such plans.

Sigarda is for popular cards like Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, and Priest of Forgotten Gods.

Stonecloaker is both graveyard hate and a rescue effect. Some times you'll find yourself bouncing your own Eternal Witness, Terastodon, or Bane of Progress for re-use Sometimes you'll use it to get back cards you exiled under an Angel of Serenity. The card is just so incredibly versatile.

Sun Titan.

Terastodon not only hits 3 problematic permanents at once, making it both a hate card and a source of card advantage, but it is also a big body that can and will attack in a deck with no specific win condition.

Void Winnower and Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger are 2 more high cost creatures that, for their cost, are very much worth their abilities by themselves. That said, just like Terastodon, they are also big bodies that will do more than just prevent your opponent from winning (because preventing opponents from winning isn't the same as winning yourself); they will attack and whittle down your opponents' life.

Yasharn is absurd. Forget shutting down specific cards, how about shutting down an entire color? Quick, think of 5 black cards you might put in an EDH deck. Now how many of those have an additional cost of sacrificing a creature or gaining life? Chainer, Wayfarer's Bauble, Burnished Hart, expedition map, Vilis, Diabolic Intent, Priest of Forgotten Gods, Phyrexian Reclamation, Mind Stone, Viscera Seer, Phyrexian Altar, Saffi, Greater Good, Blasting Station, Sidisi. The list goes on an on. That's no even the end of it; you get 2 lands upon ETB! This icing on the cake means Yasharn generates card advantage and acts as a hate bear.
