Windbrisk Raptor Discussion

TypicalTimmy on White's issues in Commander

I sort of feel like your "Life gain variant" card should put the counter on it whenever you gain life (1x counter) and not based on how much life you gained.

For example, a 4/4 with lifelink shouldn't put 4x counters on it, it should put 1.

It would be far to easy to break that card with things such as True Conviction and Windbrisk Raptor .

If you have 21 power on the board because of a ton of small 1/1s, 2/2s and a few 3/2s or whatever, if you swing in full that would be 21 counters, which is 7 draws. That just seems a bit busted in my opinion.

Right off the bat it looks really good. All of the standard categories are covered. There are a few cards though that don't pull enough weight. I'm not sure Arctic Aven, Dawnfeather Eagle, Aven Fateshaper, Serra Aviary, Brave the Sands, and Always Watching do enough to keep around. Derevi gives all your creatures a psuedo- vigilance already. I would replace these with Judge's Familiar, Windbrisk Raptor, Mindshrieker, Aerie Mystics, and Kangee, Aerie Keeper. There are also good arguments to include Mirror Entity or Beastmaster Ascension for an easy win-con, Rout or Phyrexian Rebirth to wipe the board, and Basalt Monolith or Gilded Lotus to abuse Derevi Untap triggers. Rounding out the mana base with a Seaside Haven and the bounce lands will keep your hand full. Later upgrades I would consider adding would be Kruphix, God of Horizons and Reliquary Tower to max hand size and allow you to keep all of the extra mana Derevi enables.

Just some neat cards you might like to see, hope you enjoy <3

Victimizecan be a good choice for bringing back stuff, as well as Exhume allows opponents to bring back from the grave, but usually opponents don't have as good of cards that they want to bring back Soul Exchange is also good if youre willing to sacrifice a creature, like Victimize does

As for creatures Archetype of Courage can be pretty neat as well as Windbrisk Raptor . High Priest of Penance is a pretty nice way of removing something and Palisade Giant is a really interesting wall you could add, these creatures except for High Priest of Penance have pretty high cost, but have neat effects

oh and Magister of Worth can be great for either bringing back stuff or clearing out stuff, and since teysa has protection from creatures it wouldnt be affected, or if you have something equipped with Darksteel Plate

Removing Windbrisk Raptor, Victory's Herald and True Conviction in favor of Mana Vault, Boros Signet and Darksteel Ingot to help smooth out the mana curve a bit.

-Windbrisk Raptor, -Epitaph Golem. +Courser of Kruphix, +Assault Formation.

There's enough lifegain for the Raptor to go, plus it has more than 2 power which I'm trying to avoid to have as much synergy with Sidar Kondo.

with Bedlam in you might want to throw in something that gives creatures lifelink, Windbrisk Raptor, True Conviction or most fittingly Whip of Erebos
