I don't love: Broodhatch Nantuko since I don't think you ever do anything with the tokens, even if you get like 7 of them. Echo Tracer also seems pretty underpowered. Overrun also seems meh? It's a win condition, but really not a great one.

I generally feel like you could add more instants. You can play a lot on your opponents turns with morphs, so you might as well take advantage of that. Seedborn Muse also seems great for giving you more mana to unmorph. Also, I think you already talked about this in the chat, but does Mystic Forge work with morphs? It's pretty cool if it does. You've got a lot of triggered abilities, so maybe Strionic Resonator Also, no Sol Ring ?

Hey, nice changes to the precon, but I feel you've left out the thing most missing from the precon, early game ramp.

Kadena is an engine, but that engine can't get started until you can cast her from the Command Zone. It doesn't make sense to cast Morphs before you have Kadena on the battlefield because then you're missing out on the advantage that Kadena gives you, the whole point of the deck. Consider adding early game ramp to get four drop Kadena onto the battlefield faster?

Kadena being a four drop is helpful with early game ramp because a single two drop mana rock ( Talisman of Resilience ), one drop mana dork ( Elves of Deep Shadow ) or two drop land ramp spell ( Farseek ) lets you most likely play Kadena turn three. However you want to consistently be able to do this therefore you want a nice number of early game ramp cards. Definitely more than two which is currently here. Kadena is three colors which makes colorless ramp less appealing than colored ramp because again you want to get her onto the battlefield before you cast Morphs.

Cards to consider cutting for this ramp package:

  • Scaretiller
  • Pendant of Prosperity
  • Rayami. First of the Fallen
  • Silent-Blade Oni
  • Volrath, the Shapestealer
  • Leadership Vacuum

These suggested cuts are cutting high mana cost cards for low mana cost cards to help to speed up gameplay.


The combo of Brine Elemental and Vesuvan Shapeshifter is a good reason to play Kadena because she can cheat the mana cost of these Morphs thus you can assemble the combo faster. Consider adding cards that can help to get Brine and Vesuvan into your hand? Fauna Shaman is great since she can be a repeatable creature tutor. She requires that you discard a creature to then tutor for another creature from your library. She alone if left alive can get both Brine and Vesuvan into your hand.

Fauna + Den Protector + ways to bounce Protector back to your hand ( Echo Tracer ) is helpful to tutor for and get certain Morphs into your hand. Vesuvan can copy Protector on your turn which is great when you have Morphs to recur from your graveyard. Protector can then be used to recur the creature you discarded. Fauna can tutor for Protector. With Morphs and Kadena this can be an engine to get Morphs into your hand to then cast for free on your turn or even your opponents' turns. It's also a fairly budget package since this appears to be a budget deck, that's important.

Hey, nice version. I'm also brewing with Kadena.

Echo Tracer when it turns face up can bounce itself back to your hand. This is good with Kadena since can then cast Tracer for free to draw. When Tracer has flash then you can do this trick during your opponents' turns. Add Seedborn Muse and this Tracer interaction can draw four cards over the course of a cycle of players turns.

Paradoxical Outcome is a instant trick to bounce morphs to draw cards getting to then cast the morphs again. You can also bounce manifests to your hand to then cast those cards. Aphetto Alchemist is a morph who's good for one reason it can untap an artifact meaning it can untap Scroll of Fate , a mana rock or Strionic Resonator , that's good for a two drop. Wonder can be a win condition with morphs/manifests giving them flying. It has to be in your graveyard, but that's not difficult.

This looks pretty controlling but I like that it is all about bouncing, my favorite form of control in blue! Not sure if I'm excited to play against this, haha, but it'd be a fun challenge once you get it tuned (Zada's horde might cry).

To use Heidar's ability sooner and multiple times I'd add Thousand-Year Elixir, Magewright's Stone, Fatestitcher, Retreat to Coralhelm, and Lightning Greaves.

You said draw could be better so why not do a wizard sub-theme? This obviously means including Azami. But guys like AEther Adept, Aven Augur, Barrin, Master Wizard, Cephalid Constable, Echo Tracer, Profaner of the Dead, etc. play well within a bouncing theme. They can give you the bounce control you need until Heidar is up and running and be draw/chump blockers before/after that.

Distant Melody, Rush of Knowledge, and Flow of Ideas could net 5+ cards most times.

Archaeomancer, Snapcaster Mage, and Scrivener to get back some of your spells for another round of fun.

If going the wizard tribal route the adding of Coat of Arms, Door of Destinies, and Docent of Perfection  Flip will quickly close out an empty board.

I know there's a bunch of pet cards in here that I'm unaware of so let me know if you want me to suggest cuts and I will. I realize too I'm suggesting altering your deck a bunch but I think it'd be more consistent this way while still being quite unique compared to other tribal wizard builds.
