False Defeat

Sorcery

Return target creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield.

Green has lots of stuff like Noxious Revival and Bala Ged Recovery  Flip that can get your Shivan out of the graveyard, and as I've pointed out there are some White cards that let you reanimate it if it's dead (or iirc take it out of exile if someone exiles it, with Pull from Eternity).

I looked up to see if there were some more decent White reanimator effects, there is Karmic Guide (also provides a blocker), Defy Death (pretty bad), Invoke Justice (better but how do you cast this!), Enduring Renewal (really, really janky), Second Sunrise (very situational), Angelic Renewal (seems good), Breath of Life (solid), Cleric Class (mana hungry/low synergy with deck), Elspeth Conquers Death (maybe?), False Defeat ($$$), Late to Dinner (good), Marshal's Anthem (mana!), Miraculous Recovery (good), Resurrection (fine), Reya Dawnbringer (so much mana). There is probably a few more, but here is a starting point, I think with your Commander the Sorcery ones make a lot of sense, but a creature that can repeatedly reanimate Shivan seem like better fits but I don't know how annoying it will be to Egg into them.

You know, you could take advantage of the discard effect further by changing up your strategy a bit. There are plenty of playable reanimation spells in White, for example, that would love a powerful discard outlet like Mageta. Invoke Justice is a very playable card that comes from a long line of no-nonsense reanimation spells: False Defeat, Breath of Life, Resurrection, Late to Dinner, oh and there's Elspeth Conquers Death, of course. I personally really like the idea of Angel of Serenity since it can be a very flexible removal spell, a way to protect creatures from a future board wipe, or a triple reanimation spell. There are tons of other reanimation spells in White, so there is enough for a pretty deep theme here.

Containment Construct also loves discarded cards during your main phase. Too bad it's a creature, but it still has potential.

Planeswalkers probably play really, really well with Mageta as well since they typically flourish on clear boards. Most Elspeth cards make creatures, and many Gideons have indestructible, so they survive board wipes even as creatures. I like Gideon Blackblade in particular because not only does he naturally have indestructible on your turn, but he can give indestructibility to another creature every turn and is also relevant removal.

I hope this is helpful!

@Thebestnoob there are indeed spells that reanimate. Proclamation of Rebirth , Tethmos High Priest , Breath of Life , False Defeat , Late to Dinner , Ramosian Revivalist , Resurrection , Timely Hordemate , Bishop of Rebirth , Defy Death , Karmic Guide and Miraculous Recovery , just to name a few. Not sure what specific format you’re looking to build in, but there are options in most.

I like the deck, but I'd like to make four suggestions:

Scaretiller can get you lands out of your graveyard, which is especially good since you'll probably discard a few and it triggers Quintorious, as well as being one of the only ways to land ramp in Boros and it does well with Evolving Wilds, Terramorphic Expanse, and, if you want to add them, the Panoramas.

Reanimation Spells like Angelic Renewal , Breath of Life , False Defeat , or Resurrection are also pretty good for the deck too I'd say. They trigger Quintorious, can regrab a utility creature like a monarch card or a graveyard to hand card to double trigger if you need it, cheat out Ulamog's Crusher, or just basically cheat on Quintorious's Commander tax if he dies, although that is a bit risky but its better than paying 7 or 9.

Maybe also a card like Marshaling Cry as an extra board pump in case you need to go aggro in case you don't get Rally the Peasants. Its also better early game since you can cycle it away.

I understand that you are going for more combo than aggro, but if you want to get even more spirits, play some auras that return themselves back to hand when enchanted creature dies, like Fiery Mantle , Undying Rage , and Brilliant Halo . I'm the most shaky on them because they don't do anything without Quintorious, but with them they can grab an extra spirit per turn. Perhaps if you could include a Prismite Effect and an Impact Tremors effect, with Ashnods Altar and Starnhiem Courser, you can combo off with them by playing mantle on a Spirit, saccing the spirit, prismite effect filters and starhiem discounts so you can pay the one red to get mantle back and get another spirit, and get infinite Tremors triggers

Other than that, I really like the deck, although I'm not that great at these kinds of things either.

i'm noticing some problems that you have with too little recursion and too little in the ways of protecting her from targeted removal. cards like Faith's Reward , Second Sunrise , Resurrection and False Defeat are really good to make sure your creatures come back when you get blown up after you summon your god emperor angel. you also are mono white so the problem with that is your card draw is very limited to really get going. take a look at cards like Mind's Eye , Scroll Rack + Land Tax . it's a great way to draw 3 a turn for one mana. Staff of Nin is a good passive draw for you every turn and you should absolutely look at putting The Immortal Sun in your deck. card is nuts and fucks on planeswalkers at the same time which only really affects one card in your deck. other cards that will help with your voltron strategy are various cards like Steelshaper's Gift , Open the Vaults , Stonehewer Giant and Stoneforge Mystic . various equipments that are really good for what you wanna do are things like Champion's Helm , Darksteel Plate , Whispersilk Cloak , any of the sword of cards (just gonna put a link to all the sword of cards of your choice all but body and mind are sweet https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?name=+%5Bsword%5D+%5Bof%5D+%5Band%5D), Batterskull , Sword of Vengeance Hammer of Nazahn . certain creatures that are just good stuff that you should think about are Selfless Squire , Thalia, Heretic Cathar , Karmic Guide , Reveillark , Linvala, Keeper of Silence also look at putting in Nahiri, the Lithomancer for a good planeswalker for equipment

cards i'm seeing that are just meh: Aegis Angel , Resolute Archangel , Banisher Priest , Fiend Hunter , Herald of the Host (doesn't really do anything to make your commander the one shot machine you want), Deathless Angel , Oracle's Vault (becomes to easily blown up right after you put all the work into making it work), Emancipation Angel , Divine Visitation (i get why you have it there for the 1/1 spirits you make, but it's not worth it), Requiem Angel .

other then that you just trim the fat of cards that don't help make brisela your one shot machine you're looking for. hope this helped!

Well after my denial w/ Boros, I actually have one other plan in mind...

Should I make a Gate Deck, or what? Just asking to be sure...

First, run Path of Ancestry and Opal Palace. With your Ghostly Flicker, Halimar Depths (and maybe even Sejiri Steppe) could be twice as good. Azorius Cluestone is nothing to sniff at as well, providing card draw in the late game.

Then ditch Curse of Chains for Afterlife.

I don't think Wormfang Drake does anything for you, as well as the support of Expedition Raptor with you flickering your stuff all the time. Speaking of it: I'd not deny myself the value of Displace in this deck. Therefor, you don't need Aether Spellbomb.

And did you know that Breath of Life has an expensive brother called False Defeat?
