I do like the idea of having Muldrotha available to bring back planeswalkers from the graveyard for exactly the reason you state, they are prime targets and tend to die way before you extract max value from them. Muldrotha makes it so they have a much better chance of sticking. I've thought hard about including Mul in my Atraxa superfriends that I'm building but haven't figured out exactly what to make the cut.
I think you can bump up the number of planeswalkers in the deck without it becoming too 'superfriends', especially if you stick to the walkers for say token creature production and avoid ones that leave emblems that take over the table. Most versions of Garruk will make tokens as well as some versions of Vraska. I'd avoid most versions of Jace or the mono blue Tamiyo or Narset if you want to keep the salt factor down. If you stay under 10 total walkers, I think you can get enough value from Muldrotha on that front and keep the strategy non-oppressive.
As for swapping to Tasigur, one of the spells I use in mine is Seasons Past to help recycle all of my best spells and then Mystical Tutor or Vampiric Tutor to keep bringing Seasons back to the top of my library to keep recycling those spells over and over [using the 1 CMC slot on Seasons to bring back the tutor]. Command the Dreadhorde would be a great card to put into this strategy [not sure why I haven't put one in my deck come to think of it....], along with some sort of life gain.
I do think some more ramp cards would be needed. The more permanents that ramp and sac for value, the better for Muldrotha but having a mix of that and sorceries isn't backbreaking. I'd go almost all ramp sorceries if you swap to Tasigur. I'm guessing that you don't have the Urborg/Cabal Coffers combo or it'd be in the deck?
For either Muldrotha or Tasigur, one search spell that I've found to be great is Forbidden Alchemy I know its not strictly 'card draw' but with enough permanents effectively adds to your hand by being in the graveyard.
Anyway, I'd try the deck out with Tasigur as the commander and see how it plays compared to Muldrotha. The great thing about Tas is that if you don't have one, he's like a buck so not a high barrier to prevent you from doing some experimentation.

Use Whitemane Lion to create a token engine, just use it to return itself and keep recasting as much as your mana allows, all at instant speed.
With your mana curve, 40 lands is probably a bit high. You should be able to go down to 37 pretty easily.

Muldrotha really isn't a spellslinger deck. She wants permanents to recycle from the graveyard and right now you have almost nothing to recur without waiting for your opponents to kill it first, just Pernicious Deed , a couple of fetches and a relatively small number of planeswalkers. Honestly, this list looks like it goes better in Tasigur or maybe Atraxa.
For each permanent type you'll want a few targets to recycle for value and you can find replacements for some of your instants and sorceries with permanents that produce a similar effect. For example, cut Farseek and sub in Wayfarer's Bauble and/or Expedition Map and pull Chemister's Insight for Witching Well . Seal of Primordium for a disenchant each turn, etc.
I've kept Muldrotha in the 99 of my Tasigur deck that is less instant/sorcery heavy than this deck and I've come close to pulling her out as too often she's been a vanilla 6/6 for 6. Without building a lot more around her strengths, I think you'll be very disappointed in how the deck performs.

Since the number of things that produce squirrels is limited, you may want Fauna Shaman for additional search to get the hermits, etc. and perhaps something like Stampeding Wildebeests that can bounce them back each turn to make another squirrel token engine.

Altar of Dementia to give yourself another sac outlet plus additional way to fill the yard.
Living Death as additional boardsweeper and insta zombie horde assuming the yard was getting full the way you want.
Ethereal Absolution ? Interesting anthem effect that gives you a way to get rid of creatures from other reanimator deck graveyards.

Some cards to consider:
Icon of Ancestry Anthem and some card search in one.
Heraldic Banner Ramp and anthem in one.
Unclaimed Territory Could sub for one of your comes-into-play tapped lands.
Waiting in the Weeds Older card but fits the token/go wide strategy. Could depend on how people that tend to play green in your local meta.

Exotic Orchard is a land that you should seriously consider finding space for in this deck. 4 color on a budget is rough but the Orchard isn't terribly expensive and should help some in color fixing.
Blasphemous Act is a boardwipe that has the CMC you're looking for on Vial Smasher triggers but in practice is way cheaper to cast when you need it most.

A card that goes well with a token/go wide strat is Glare of Subdual to help defend or punch through as needed.
Kjeldoran Outpost and/or Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree gives you a couple more options to generate token creatures. Cathars' Crusade and Gavony Township are there to make all of those tokens real threats.
