The Indomitable Queen is an amalgamation of about 5 other Queen Marchesa lists that I have been playing around with since she became available on MTGO. I have tried Queen Marchesa as a commander focused on tokens, pillow-fort tribal, heavy Rakdos-punisher slanted, all flying creatures with Moat & Magus of the Moat, and even with all the shadow creatures ever printed because they almost guarantee that I could get my crown back anytime I wanted. This deck includes some tokens and a lot of the pillow-fort strategy but focuses on a very specific win condition; Tutor, cast & win the game with Approach of the Second Sun. The traditonal black-tutor package includes Vampiric Tutor, Demonic Tutor, Sidisi, Undead Vizer and Beseech the Queen (oozes royal flavor). Grand Abolisher + Boseiju, Who Shelters All are there to help force Approach of the Second Sun through counterspells. Planeswalkers act as excellent pillow-fort pieces since you won't lose the Monarchy if opponents are attacking the Planeswalkers instead of you. And most Planeswalkers have some sort of card draw ability to help dig to Approach of the Second Sun. Liliana Vess straight-up tutors Approach of the Second Sun to the top of your library & if you have the Monarchy you will immediately draw it. I even included 1 shadow creature, Soltari Visionary, because it provides a ton of unblockable value in multiplayer games where players are casting the best enchantments playable in the format.
