Ragin' Omanth and the Elemental Wrath

Commander / EDH Aggro Competitive Lands Ramp RG (Gruul) Tokens

HybridPK

Like twisted vines that grow. Hide and swallow mansions whole.

Omnath, Locus of Rage offers a straight-forward strategy to those who wish to pilot the deck: Play lands, get dudes, and beat face. The way I utilize this strategy involves a bunch of spells that allow me to get more lands. Unlike most EDH decks, we can comfortably run 40+ lands with a majority of them being basic lands. I ramp early to play Omnath, Locus of Rage and then I ramp some more to get some sweet, sweet Landfall triggers. This deck is filled with them, and most of them generate tokens for us. This deck aims wide to flood our opponents with sheer numbers. Most of the creatures we have will be somewhat powerful as well (like the 5/5 Red and Green Elemental tokens). I also try playing up the Elemental tribal as much as I can. This way, if the majority of our creatures die while Omnath is out, we're shooting Lightning Bolts all over the place.

-------RAMP SPELLS AND EFFECTS-------

These spells range from grabbing lands out of your library or elsewhere, getting more mana for things, or playing more lands each turn: Animist's Awakening, Boundless Realms, Cultivate, Explore, Explosive Vegetation, Kodama's Reach, Nissa's Pilgrimage, Nissa's Renewal, Rampant Growth, Search for Tomorrow, Skyshroud Claim, Verdant Confluence, Harrow, Burgeoning, Khalni Heart Expedition, Perilous Forays, Sword of the Animist, Courser of Kruphix, Fertilid, Mina and Denn, Wildborn, Ulvenwald Hydra, Brighthearth Banneret, Smokebraider, Generator Servant, Sol Ring

-------TOKEN GENERATORS-------

First we need lands, then we need tokens. Omnath, Locus of Rage, Tempt with Vengeance, Parallel Lives, Zendikar's Roil, Second Harvest, Avenger of Zendikar, Rakka Mar, Rampaging Baloths, Titania, Protector of Argoth

-------FEEL THE BURN-------

Having creatures enter the battlefield simply isn't enough. We need to burn everyone and everything, if possible. Goblin Bombardment, Impact Tremors, Warstorm Surge, Where Ancients Tread, Purphoros, God of the Forge

-------I NEED MORE CARDS-------

Pfft, no worries. Draw cards with Explore, Harmonize, Shamanic Revelation, Seer's Sundial, Elemental Bond, Snake Umbra

-------SAC OUTLETS-------

Sometimes we just need to get rid of our own dudes to get things going. Ashnod's Altar, High Market, Goblin Bombardment, Perilous Forays

Card Stuff

-------POWER CARDS AND WIN CONDITIONS-------

Aside from just pure combat damage, here are the standout cards:

Boundless Realms: I usually play this card shortly after playing Omnath. You're getting at least seven 5/5 tokens out of it. If you happen to have some of the other Landfall token generators out, you're going to have a huge boardstate to work with.

Triumph of the Hordes: A personal favorite. Once you have a sizable board state, cast this and go out swinging. Most people won't know how to block. Should they manage to block and kill your Elementals, your lightning bolts have infect attached to it. Hell, in a pinch, you can just sacrifice your tokens and get straight to the lightning bolts. Just make sure you have Omnath protected!

Parallel Lives, Second Harvest: Yo dawg, heard you like tokens, so we gave you tokens with your tokens so you can swarm enemies while you swarm enemies

Greenwarden of Murasa: One of the only cards that allows for graveyard recursion. It is a good way to replay particular cards.

Amulet of Vigor: A lot of our basics will end up come in tapped unless we have this guy out on the battlefield.

-------NOTABLE INTERACTIONS-------

Triumph of the Hordes + Blasphemous Act: Alright, this is a pure Timmy interaction. Give everyone infect then wipe everyone's board. Should most of your guys be elementals (and they should be), you can kill most people at the table (just need 12 tokens in a 4 player game).

Any lands that get sacrificed + Splendid Reclamation + Amulet of Vigor + Titania, Protector of Argoth: The ideal state is a bit too involved to really happen, but fortunately any of these interactions will work when incomplete. First, Amulet of Vigor and Titania need to be in play, and you have to have sacrificed lands in your graveyard. Play Splendid Reclamation. All of those lands are back on the battlefield, but don't stay tapped thanks to Amulet of Vigor. You'll get whatever Landfall triggers you have (to make tokens, gain life, or +1/+1 counters), and then sacrifice all of those lands again to get more lands. Now you'll get the 5/3 elementals from Titania, and more Landfall triggers with the new lands (all of the sacrificed lands net you more basic lands). BOOM. Tons of tokens. Then you could be a jerk and play Greenwarden of Murasa to get Splendid Reclamation again and do it all over.

Fertilid + Retreat to Kazandu: If you're good on life, you can put +1/+1 counters on Fertilid, then remove them to get more land, then use the landfall trigger to put counters back on Fertilid.

Ghost Town + Burgeoning: Have Ghost Town on the battlefield, and bounce it back to your hand during each opponent's upkeep. Whenever they play a land, play Ghost Town. If they play multiple lands in a turn, keep bouncing it and playing it. Get those sweet Landfall triggers on everyone's turns.

Ashnod's Altar + Perilous Forays: Alright, I'm not sure if this works like I think it does, but pretty much you sac an elemental token to get a land, thus replacing the elemental. You also get 2 colorless mana due to the sac, which pays for future Perilous Foray use. Now, if it doesn't work exactly like this, then have a few tokens in play and sac one with Ashnod's Altar. Then, sac two more to Perilous Forays. You'll slowly lose dudes, but you could start up a cycle where you can burn people out with the constant sacrificing.

Phytotitan + Warstorm Surge and/or Where Ancients Tread + Sac outlet: You get a chance to fling around a minimum of 5 damage on your upkeep on each of your turns!
