Generous Stray Discussion

Now that I have time

Filigree Familiar Seems off plan. I don't think it does what you think.

Same with Wirewood Savage

Cantrip/Tutor Creatures not in the deck

Spellseeker

Recruiter of the Guard

Dusk Legion Zealot

Bonded Fetch

Champion of Wits

Phyrexian Rager

Rogue Refiner

Generous Stray

Whirlpool Rider

Coiling Oracle

Carven Caryatid

Shardless Agent

I particularly Recommend Recruiter since it is an instant win with aluren if you run like 1 more piece.

I was going to sit this one out, because I just had a few back-to-back, but I'll do one before I go to bed. I browsed Wikipedia for a little bit until I found something interesting.

Vezuna, Master of Haruspicy

Legendary Planeswalker - Vezuna (Consider her a Lich)

+1 You may sacrifice a creature. If you do, draw a card. If the creature you sacrificed has a converted mana cost of 3 or more, add an additional loyalty counter on Vezuna, Master of Haruspicy.

-2 Put a haruspicy counter on target creature. When that creature dies, you scry 2. Exile that creature instead of putting it into it's owner's graveyard.

-7 You get an emblem with "You may cast creature spells from any graveyard using any color of mana. Those creatures are black zombies in addition to their other colors and types." Then destroy all creatures.

Fast enough to be Modern viable. Would work well in Dredge, I would assume. I don't know, I don't play Dredge. It'd definitely be a welcome addition to Reanimator decks. Running aside spells such as Dismember , Fatal Push , Assassin's Trophy , and Abrupt Decay she would be a seriously dangerous threat. Especially when you consider the likes of cards such as Generous Stray , you'd get to draw two cards off that lovely kitty and put two loyalty onto Vezuna.

Running in Sultai, you get access to Glimpse the Unthinkable , giving you a means to cast whatever your opponent has milled out.

Running in Jund, she pairs with Liliana of the Veil extremely well.

She'd even fit into Abzan, as a lot of Abzan focuses on creature removal too.

Sort of an all-around flexible lady for any Golgari-aligned Shard / Wedge :)

I'm actually super proud of this one. :D

Make another flexible Planeswalker that would fit in multiple decks.

Bonus points if you incorporate the previous challenge and make him / her a master over a specific study of magic.

Mirari's Wake and Settle the Wreckage are both good cards though Settle does not count as a board wipe since it only hits the attacking creatures of a single player. I'd still look into some wraths and some targeted enchantment/artifact removal.

Regarding some of your changes, I don't know if Ajani's Aid is spectacular. It's mainly designed for use in the planeswalker deck but only prevents damage from a single creature and EDH often has multiple problem creatures at a time. Also, I would ABSOLUTELY remove Steely Resolve. It would give all of your cats shroud and render them untargetable by YOU with things like "Put a +1/+1 counter of each of up to 2 target creatures". While that's a really cool card that I've not seen before, you definitely don't want that in this particular deck. The comparable hexproof card is Privileged Position I believe.

Rhonas' Monument only has 8 targets so it's not as good currently as Oketra's. If you add a few more green cats like Mirri, Cat Warrior, Qasali Slingers (also can be removal), or Generous Stray (meh stats but card draw and look at that flavor text :3) then it would be more worth it. Additionally, take a look at the CMCs of your creatures. Urza's Incubator doesn't help as much as you'd think because very few of the cats actually have 2+ generic mana symbols that could be reduced. I'd remove it for that reason (though normally you'd think it'd be awesome).

Regarding Trostani and populate. I personally don't love populate. And this is coming from someone with a Trostani deck (Trostani, Sisay's Legacy). Populate just lets you copy a single token. The goal of this deck seems to be to make lots of small tokens rather than a few big tokens making populate less attractive.

Oh, I just noticed you have Raksha Golden Cub but only two equipments. I think that makes him one of the weaker cats in the deck since you're not going to cat-equipment route, you're going the cat-token route. Because of that, he's just a 7 mana 3/4 and that's not really great.

Loam Lion, Qasali Pridemage and Path to Exile are all great cards to consider.

I'm also a fan of Generous Stray, it's not as good as Elvish Visionary in elves, but it comes close and card-draw is never a bad thing!

Demon of the Catacombs

Creature - Demon

Flying, Trample

When Demon of the Catacombs enters the battlefield, you may sacrifice a creature. If you don't, it enters the battlefield tapped.

6/6

I currently run 3x Demon of Catastrophes in my Standard Abzan Aggro deck, where I sac either my Generous Strays, or my tokens via Call to the Feast, Sworn Companions, and Queen's Commission. Otherwise I can pay an additional and play a Llanowar Elves first to sac that since it's useless without Haste.

So the same guy without the sac clause, but a steeper color cost? Yup. I'd do it.

Keep the bulk rare draft challenge going!

With the printing of Generous Stray, there are now two house cats (the other being Sanctuary Cat) that can defeat trained soldiers in combat. If the artwork of those cards showed lions or tigers, there would be no problem, but does WotC seriously expect the players to believe that ordinary house cats could defeat armed soldiers in combat? What does everyone else say about that?

for humor i vote Generous Stray wins both art and flavor text.... but for just being awesome and blendiing [email protected]$$ery with Majesty ill go with Ledev Champion because the idea of a Elf knight riding into battle on a Dire wolf is just too cool.
