Scythe Tiger

Creature — Cat

Shroud (This creature can't be the target of spells or abilities.)

When Scythe Tiger enters the battlefield, sacrifice it unless you sacrifice a land.

Territorial skycat is a little awkward to build around, but since you are in selesnya have you considered a cat tribal variant?

Steppe Lynx, Wild Nacatl , Loam Lion , Qasali Ambusher to get use out of lands. Feline Sovereign, Pride Sovereign, King of the Pride as lords.

Scythe Tiger in the sideboard for control matchups.

It'd certainly offer an aggro strategy to mix things up with your regular playgroup, so that they can't overprepare for this midrange/combo style.

Pride Sovereign is great, although its probably more for GW. Feline Sovereign is a lord that also gives you artifact/enchantment removal. Prowling Serpopard is obviously great against any sort of counterspell-playing deck, although a bit expensive. Kaheera, the Orphanguard is also sorta expensive but you can just run one as a companion. Generous Stray isn't as good but its cheap and cantrips.

Some other 2-drop green cats are Feral Prowler and Initiate's Companion. Hungry Lynx is super good, but pretty expensive as well.

You could also maybe add some 1-drop cats like Scythe Leopard, Scythe Tiger, or Wild Nacatl (you'd have to run more colors for that though).

I would suggest going into GW colors. Even though the manabase won't be great with budget constraints you get access to so many more cats: Adorned Pouncer, Brimaz, King of Oreskos ($$$$), Leonin Vanguard, Regal Caracal, King of the Pride (this one is OP), Qasali Ambusher, Ajani's Pridemate (good with Leonin Vanguard, etc. This'll also give you good SB options like Felidar Cub/Qasali Pridemage (not sure if needed with Feline sovereign already removing artifacts/enchantments), Dromoka's Command, Leonin Arbiter, etc.

Thanks saturn999!

lagotripha I love the idea of Steppe Lynx in theory, but I've had it sit out as a 0 power creature for multiple turns in a row and it sure feels bad. I do love Loam Lion though, and I've cut Mirri, Cat Warrior and 1 of the Sovereigns to fit 3 in. Scythe Tiger is super interesting! The only real downside I see is that shroud means Giver can't protect it. But baiting out wraths does seem great..

If you are doing the fetch plan and skipping arbiter, you need Steppe Lynx . Since this lets you push the curve a lot lower, it makes loam lion a stronger option too.

Leonin Relic-Warder can be extra copies of pridemage if your meta needs it, Scythe Tiger is a cool choice for control matchups- forcing a wrath is well worth a land.

Ajani's Pridemate points to a lifegain stratgy, but there isn't much else offering that. If there was a Squadron Hawk for cats or similar reliable lifgain, soul-sisters cats would be a thing.

Overall I worry that you play too many expensive cards whose value isn't guaranteed enough when they hit play, like Thraben Foulbloods and Shambling Shell. I know you want a good card for the 3 spot on your curve, but I feel both of these are pretty weak. I say that, but I don't have any ideas about what to put in their place.

That said, you might want to consider cards like Scythe Tiger who is strong, fast, shrouded, and lets you choose to put one of your artifact lands in play to speed up delirium. I'm also a fan of Harvest Wurm, who unfortunately probably won't work for your purposes since it specifies basic land. Cadaver Imp could be really good depending on how it interacts with your deck, and Unearth goes well with it.

If you want a sideboard replacement for your finishers that is less vulnerable to control, Blastoderm is always a good threat.

Most of my suggestions either stray away from your core deck theme or maybe won't help with it's current form, but I think they're good to keep in mind.

Hi! I really love the deck I think it’s a super cool take on stompy and it seems like it can hold its own pretty well in conpetetive matches. I don’t know how important shroud is to you, since green has so many removal spells that have to target your own creatures first, but Rogue Elephant might be something worth considering in place of Scythe Tiger since it interacts with Elephant Guide and Epic Confrontation. If not, I still love scythe tiger. Keep up the good work!

Scythe Tiger is not bad, the only problem is that you can't target it with Temur Battle Rage and/or Mutagenic Growth. It dodges Lightning Bolt and Galvanic Blast but not Chainer's Edict.

Not bad, just things to consider. Seems like this deck has several things that want to target your own stuff to make it bigger. Shroud is not the best thing for that

I would highly recommend Scythe Tiger over Rogue Elephant.
