Arahbo, Roar of the World

Legendary Creature — Cat Avatar

Eminence - At the beginning of combat on your turn, if Arahbo, Roar of the World is in the command zone or on the battlefield, another target Cat you control gets +3/+3 until end of turn.

Whenever another Cat you control attacks, you may pay {1}{G}{W}. If you do, it gains trample and gets +X/+X until end of turn, where X is its power.

Thanks BiBitty! I thought of Arahbo, Roar of the World , even used it in a earlier iteration of the deck before posting. Sadly, I trimmed the deck size down a little, and something had to budge. As for Brimaz, if you hadn’t noticed, I was going for more of a pure kitty cat vibe. I did not dip into the huge pool of cat soldiers, mostly because this deck was made because of a joke my friend made. But Leonin Warleader , now that’s a card I can get behind. I. Don’t have any four-drops, and it’s ability is dope. I’ll play test and see what I should drop for it. Thanks again for the feedback!

Can I make a hub suggestion in this thread? If so, I'd recommend creating the following:

Cats. A tribal deck that uses the synergies and abilities of Cat cards like Arahbo, Roar of the World , Kemba, Kha Regent , and Brimaz, King of Oreskos .

Arahbo's Roar

Target Cat Creature you control gains Trample and +X/+X until end of turn, where X is it's power. You may search your library and/or graveyard for a card called "Arahbo, Roar of the Multiverse", and put it in your hand. If you searched your library this way, shuffle your library

"A deafening roar surged forth with enough power to shake the earth, and then it was there"

For my card I went with a design similar to that of the exclusive cards in planeswalker decks that allow you to o find your planeswalker, only for a as-of-now (and probably forever) planeswalker version of Arahbo, Roar of the World . Now make another one, ok?

I like about Careful Consideration that it can target myself. I run some cards, that are not very good in particular matchups. For example Damnation ist not good versus control. I like to have ways to get rid of those cards. Being instant is another huge plus for the Careful Consideration over many other similar cards. That said, Wheel and Deal is a cool idea, i try to find room for the card :)

@ God-Eternal Kefnet : I totally agree, but atm i do not run both 6/6 demons and in my opinion being 6/6 is better then being 4/5. Its for me similar to running Gurmag Angler over Tasigur, the Golden Fang . The added bonus is nice to have, but often not relevant.

Golgari Charm is a great out versus many problematic cards. -1/-1 gets rid of an opposing True-Name Nemesis , Sai, Master Thopterist token, Loyal Apprentice and its token, many other red aggro cards, Bitterblossom tokens (or Bitterblossom itself), buying a turn versus Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow , killing a lot of cats in Arahbo, Roar of the World , killing mana dorks, etc...

There are also a lot of enchantments that are very problematic for this deck. For Example: Blood Moon , Hall of Gemstone , Song of the Dryads , Opposition , Treachery , Stasis , Search for Azcanta  Flip (getting out of the lock), Parallax Wave , etc...

I think i have never used the third mode :)

Nissa, Vital Force is a good answer to a planeswalker, blocks like a champ, closes games and is incredible fast on her ultimate. The -3 is sometimes also nice, but not as relevant as the other two modes.

ChinoEX on Dragon Throne of Tarkir + ...

If I understand Defender correctly , i could trigger Arahbo, Roar of the World 's Eminence on a cat equipped with Dragon Throne of Tarkir , but I could not activate Arahbo's second ability on the equipped creature, correct? If I have a Leonin Shikari , would i be able to target an attacking cat with Arahbo's second ability, then attach the Dragon Throne to that cat before damage, and activate the Throne on the pumped cat to give my other cats the +/+ and trample buff? Does this take the attacking cat out of combat now that it has Defender?

Also weezel, make sure that if you're including a Tainted Pact (most valuable tutor), usually to a Master of Cruelties with a Kaalia of the Vast triggered ability on the stack, or into a Razaketh, the Foulblooded and sac the Kaalia of the Vast to pull my win-con, however, you can only have 1 of each basic land Plains , Swamp , Mountain (I don't even play the Mountain ), otherwise your Tainted Pact can ground itself out if you pull 2x Plains for example.

Thought I would mention incase you handn't had that experience yet. CMC2 Instant Tutor though, it's critical. Also, I played Ancient Tomb for a very long time, ended up moving it to my Arahbo, Roar of the World deck. It never really worked properly. Everything in is or , or like Grand Abolisher . It does help with the Buried Alive cast though! I found other than Chrome Mox , the rocks were giving me enough mana, needed the lands to produce the colors. If you exclude all the A/D/D that I never cast, my CMC is 2.00 avg, 1.92 avg if I remove the Reveillark which may become a Combat Celebrant or Hatred or something, I don't know yet, re-evaluating my alternate win-con, I never use the Reveillark .

What are your thoughts on Crucible of Worlds , with a Fetch land it can get to hard casing A/D/D, but still feels too slow? What do I need all that mana for anyway.

Hey hkhssweiss, I really like the ideas and concept for your deck. I would recommend you to use Chameleon Colossus and Skyhunter Skirmisher instead of Vanguard of Brimaz and Ajani's Chosen since Arahbo, Roar of the World doesn't really reward the going white route. One thing I feel Arahbo, Roar of the World decks lack is having a "surprise component". Playing a single cat and pumping it for one big attack is quite predictable for the opponents. Even though you go try to go full enchantment I'd further recommend you to use Grafted Exoskeleton (maybe instead of Faith's Reward )since it is easier to get to the 10 lethal damage this way instead of pumping one creature for a 40 power swing. I wish I had the money/cards to test this deck since I'm still not sure whether Arahbo, Roar of the World does suit enchantments over artifacts. Anyway thanks a lot for putting this list together! It's very interesting to get a different view on the cat commander! :)

Hey hkhssweiss, thanks for the suggestion. While I do like enchantments for their low costs I think the high cost of equipments is justified in commander. In my playgroup board wipes happen at least every 3 turns and the possibility of reattaching equipments comes in handy. Furthermore getting out Hammer of Nazahn pretty much solves the problem of the equipmentcost (unless it gets removed). I do however like Shield of the Oversoul and Unquestioned Authority . I'm thinking about putting those in the deck but I just don't see a reason to go an all enchantment route. The problem I see with both enchantments and equipments is the fact that Arahbo, Roar of the World is quite predictable. I'm still thinking about adding more of pump spells because of that. Anyway thanks for the great suggestions again!
