So let me tell you a story. I met a girl who became the love of my life several years ago. We hit it off and she decided to ask me if I'd be her partner. I agreed and we've been dating for a while now. Problem is she lived several states away and so seeing her was difficult. But I decided that I wanted to do so regardless. So a trip was planned and I went off to see her for a weekend in her home state. Now we were both into Magic and so we cracked open a fat pack of Eldritch Moon together since it was the surrent set. I made a joke about opening up a Tamiyo since she was one of my favorite planeswalkers.

And then she opens her.

And then she gives her to me.

And so I decided that rather than let the card sit in my binder like a trophy I would instead immortalize it in an EDH deck fueled with the power of love, sap, and superior firepower and shenanigans. That's the story of how this monstrosity came to be.

Ok cool story bro so how does it work?

Well I'm glad you asked line of text! This deck is not a typical Derevi deck. Most Derevi decks I've seen are stacks or some other degenerate combo stuff. While my deck does run an infinite mana combo (which I swear I invented accidentally) the main crux of the deck is enabling everyone to do what they want to do.

What do I mean by this?

Well I run a ton of cards like Show and Tell and Oath of Druids . Cards which are symmetrical effects which cheat other cards into play. This is because I want to play a mostly fair game of Magic, but one that's also flipping insane. The logic behind my deck is that in EDH everybody wants to do crazy things. We all want to do things that just can't be done in regular Magic. We want creatures with sky high power and toughness! Endless armies of squirrels! Heck the fact that infinity is a regular interval of measurement that we use in this format should say a lot! My deck seeks to let everyone have fun by enabling them to do the cool things that they want to. And it wins because usually the things that I do are generally more insane then theirs.

So it turned out that I built a Derevi in the opposite way of most Derevi builds. And I love it.
