Hypergenesis Discussion

CreationCatalyst Tnx. What about the dream halls? Doesn't work with the eldrazi seems like it could backfire pretty bad

Have you considered other cheat-in cards like Hypergenesis , Quicksilver Amulet , Thran Temporal Gateway or even Elvish Piper ?

Fun Fact: If you want a really degenerate combo, put in Hypergenesis to cascade into and have the rest of your deck be 7+ mana fatties. Play your entire hand of eldrazi and crap on turn 4/5.

Gidgetimer on Turn 1 Lotus Field?

It entering is not simultaneous with the trigger. It has to be on the battlefield when the trigger resolves because it doesn't even trigger until it has entered. Then the ability has to go on the stack and resolve.

I'd be interested in knowing what rules allow reordering of events. I know of ordering multiple triggers as you would like if you have more than one to go on the stack at once, I know of choosing the order that replacement effects apply, I know of nothing that allows reordering of events. They either happen simultaneously as with Genesis Wave or in a specified order as with Hypergenesis .

Cards effects have to finish b4 resolving triggers. In this case, everyone keeps putting relevant permanents into play until no player wants too, then you resolve the draw triggers. To check this, go onto gather.wizards.com and look up card rulings for Hypergenesis . Also, you should play As Foretold . This will allow you to cast your signature spell without suspending it.

I spent alot of time debating the inclusion of Grothama, but in the end it needed more devotion to it than I wanted to fit. Enlisted Wurm was in, but I found the one instance of Cascade in the entire deck just wasn't worth it.

Hypergenesis does seem fun. Especially if I have say Elemental Bond down, or a Rishkar's Expertise waiting to refill the hand with. I'll try to fit it in somewhere and test it out.

Sorry for not commenting before, I was focusing on the person who didn't get a comment at all and omitted to put a comment on here as well. So, I think you're missing out on two top-notch wurmbos, and those are Grothama, All-Devouring and Enlisted Wurm . Grothama is a bit funky, and kinda clunky, but it's kinda surprisingly good when you are sure what you're planning on using it for. Enlisted Wurm is already in the maybeboard, but I can't reccommend it enough for your gameplan. Hypergenesis is a bit crazy, but the payoff might be big enough to justify the advantage it gives everyone else. I don't have too much else to add.

Gleeock on Most chaotic deck

I am SO in love with this. Hardcore EDH players have a tendancy to make a "coin-flip chaos" deck though & just make a million flips until it is no longer chaos... So watch out for that. Some Max chaos cards: Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire , Etali, Primal Storm , Oath of Druids , Rampage of the Clans , Infernal Genesis , Endless Whispers (not a may ability) Uba Mask , Captive Audience , Thantis, the Warweaver , Overabundance , Hypergenesis , Painful Quandary , Ruric Thar, the Unbowed , The Great Aurora , Bolas's Citadel - if you don't try the topdeck nonsense... Several of these will achieve chaotic games in diverse ways: punish people for waiting to play, force them to play, force parity, or make random splash plays for your advantage. Of course, forcing unusual parity doesn't lend a hand to you winning, but that is not the point.

we're not talking about Greater Gargadon , we're talking about Restore Balance . the things that Hypergenesis can do is leagues beyond what Restore Balance can do.
