Hofri Sacrifice

Ghostly Boros:

Hofri Ghostforge was the first Boros card I've seen and thought, "I need to build around that." He's got an amazing ability that can be used to gain value, and some very nice keywords to go along with it; Trample and Haste (as well as +1/+1) for all Spirits! So with all that Hofri has going for him, I decided there are three things I want this deck to do; Sacrifice Creatures, Gain Value off ETBs, and Swing for lethal.

Sacrificing the Living:

The first theme this deck focuses on, is Sacrifice. Cards like Dark-Dweller Oracle , Relic Vial , and Goblin Bombardment all provide a valuable Sac Outlet. Sacrificing is so important in this deck, because it allows you a get a second trigger of a valuable ETB (with Hofri out). Tack on recursion, with cards like Karmic Guide , Lukka, Wayward Bonder , and Underworld Breach , and you'll be able to get even more value from your creatures.

Abusing the Dead:

This deck has a big focus on ETBs, because Hofri lets you get a Spirit version of your Creatures when they die. Cards like Combustible Gearhulk , Ingot Chewer , Palace Jailer , Recruiter of the Guard / Imperial Recruiter , Dire Fleet Daredevil , and Thraben Inspector have valuable ETBs, that can be reused. I also included some cards that synergize well with the ETB subtheme, cards like Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker , Luminous Broodmoth , Flickerwisp , Charming Prince , and of course Panharmonicon .

Let the Haunting Begin:

So, this deck is all about building up an army of Hastey-Trampling Spirits, and turning them sideways. But it takes more than just a bunch of Ghosts to have a Haunting...you need fear... Fear looks like Terror of Mount Velus , Aurelia, the Warleader , Scourge of the Throne , Moraug, Fury of Akoum , Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder , and Marton Stromgald . Double Strike, Extra Combats, and Boosted Power/Toughness, make this a Haunting to remember.

Lastly, I included Anointed Procession in this deck because, the only thing better than one Spirit is two!
