The #1 Gandalf of the Secret Fire deck on TappedOut!

The Strat

The deck revolves around slinging big spells, resetting boards, and then suspending those big spells to be cast at a later time with Gandalf of the Secret Firefoil. Considering I built this deck to play in a non competitive pod, there won't be any blue counter cards in the deck, I would rather run polymorph esq cards in the deck to keep the board state fun.

Win Cons

The deck has several ways it can win. Sheer control of the board state and echoing big spells can get out of hand pretty quick, along with some head hunters like Velomachus Loreholdfoil, Niv-Mizzet, Parun, and last but not least Torrential Gearhulk. These big three are the main win cons of the deck.

Combos

There are a lot of combos in the deck, the biggest being Niv-Mizzet, Parun and Curiosityfoil together will net you two results, either you win the game or you will deck yourself out in one turn. Just remember not to get carried away and that Curiosityfoil does say You MAY draw a card, you CAN stop the slippery slope of decking yourself.

Polymorphist's Jest and Anger of the Gods is another small combo to be noted. However I have debated dropping both of these cards to add in Resetfoil and Reiterate to be combod with Lightning Boltfoil for infinite damage/mana. This combo also works with Lightning Helix in place of Lightning Boltfoil for just one extra Plainsfoil.

Soulfire Grand Master and any burn spells such as Olorin's Searing Lightfoil or Gandalf's Sanctionfoil.

There are TONS of Sensei's Divining Topfoil combos. To name one: Sensei's Divining Topfoil filters through your deck to stack any miracle such as Bonfire of the Damned. You then summon Soulfire Grand Master and pass turn. As long as there is a way for you to cast sorcery cards on their turn i.e Vedalken Orreryfoil, Leyline of Anticipationfoil, Wizards of Thay or Gandalf, Friend of the Shirefoil, you can then (on your opponents turn) trigger Sensei's Divining Topfoil to draw your first card on THEIR turn to trigger Bonfire of the Damned and watch all your friends mouths drop in awe.

The list of combos honestly goes on and on.

As I have mentioned above this is my first Commander/EDH deck I have ever built. I do have a strong history of building decks in other formats/TCGs, and I come from a competitive tournament based background. Any tips or recommendations/changes is very appreciated!

Starting to think I definitely have too many "Enter play tapped" lands. Or at least had some subpar options chosen. Not experiencing issues yet of being starved, so my land volume feels good, and I don't mind having the scry lands considering they work really well with the Miracles in the deck. Made a few small tweaks here and there to keep the mana as balanced as possible, still is gonna need some work. Any recommendations on Lands to drop and replacements for them is greatly appreciated!

I have taken out the vast majority of the land base and revamped it successfully to my liking. As the land base currently sits there should (statistically) only be 5 lands that come into play tapped. With these changes the deck already feels leagues faster than my first rendition, and will be the new baseline moving forward!

Have also opted to cut out Storm of Sarumanfoil and Arcane Bombardmentfoil to fit in Reset and Reiterate for the infinite damage/mana combo with Lightning Boltfoil and Boros Charm / Lightning Helix.
