Fiery Inscription

Enchantment

When Fiery Inscription enters the battlefield, the Ring tempts you.

Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, Fiery Inscription deals 2 damage to each opponent.

Flarhoon13 on Hey Macleod, Get offa my ewe! (Angus Mackenzie)

I did it! Won with Blim, Comedic Genius yesterday and with Angus Mackenzie today. Wins with 53 decks since May 3rd!! And won this one as a kind of perfect game.

Three player pod. I have tweaked Angus recently, trying to see if we could get him over this hump, and the changes seem to have benefitted the deck. So, I played Machine God's Effigy as a copy of John's Eidolon of Blossoms. When I cast Machine God's Effigy, I was planning to copy Ryland's commander, Saruman, the White Hand. However, thinking twice, I figured card draw would serve me better than an expendable Orc Army. I drew a card each as I cast Sphere of Safety, Enigmatic Incarnation and Runed Halo, naming Fiery Inscription. I didn't sacrifice anything with Enigmatic Incarnation until I had a game winning plan. I gained a turn with Chronomantic Escape and then, on the next turn, cast Expel the Interlopers. Sacrificed Runed Halo with Enigmatic Incarnation and put out Moon-Blessed Cleric to seek out Enchanted Evening, since I had Calming Verse in hand. I untapped with 16 life and nine lands, just enough to tap out and cast Enchanted Evening and Calming Verse to effectively win the game, destroying all of my opponents' permanents, with them at 18 and 11 life. They would not have come back. I even looked and would've drawn an Aura Thief to stymie any comeback attempts.

This looks pretty good to me :) Not sure whether you're trying to remain on a budget, but in my own storm-like deck I've grown rather fond of Seance Board, Reiterate, Past in Flamesfoil and Fiery Inscription. Good luck with this brew!

Minor changes include:

Snow-Covered Mountain -> Flamekin Village (Hasty dragons are nice, but this can also be political)

Fiery Inscription -> Worldfire (Fiery Inscription is excellent, but makes it almost too easy. Going add alt win, Worldfire + Spellweaver Helix combo)

Notorious Throng -> Spellweaver Helix (Tokens are nice, but this is more on theme and goes toward the Worldfire + Spellweaver Helix combo)

Spiteful Banditry - ramp and a mini-wrath. Seems pretty good

Gimli, Counter of Kills - has the potential to deal certain opponents a lot of damage. Good for board wipes. Is Dwarf

Fiery Inscription - strong instant/sorcery synergy!

Erebor Flamesmith - some more bonus damage. Is dwarf

Fear, Fire, Foes! - decent multiplicative damage.

Display of Power - strong copier, if you're looking for more

Wrenn's Resolve and Reckless Impulse - quality cheap impulse-draw in Red. Doesn't get too much better than this for it's cost. Well worth noting

Nahiri's Warcrafting - weird removal/impulse-draw hybrid. Worth noting

Into the Fire - another modal damager/card selector. Seems all right

Invasion of Karsus  Flip - mini wrath that turns into an instant/sorcery payoff. Not terrible

Invasion of Regatha  Flip - mini Torbran!

Invasion of Kaldheim  Flip - pretty decent card advantage on both sides, plus damage. Well worth noting

Chandra, Hope's Beacon - probably too difficult to defend planeswalkers in this deck, but this one has all the synergy

Bloodfeather Phoenix - probably doesnt fit the deck perfectly, but it has the synergy. Better in 1v1

Curse of Opulence - very strong ramp, can get some heat off of you

Hypersayia9001 Hi, thanks for your comment.

I cutted Sorcerer Class because it's too slow and Veyran, Voice of Duality because i tried to go more into the combo/infinity game and Veyran doesn't support that in the way i want to.

Isochron Scepter was always destroyed in the moment it lands on the table (my Meta plays a lot of artifact hate) and i never fount the right spell for it, but i like the idea of Narset's Reversal + Extra-Turn. Also since i upgraded the Counter-Section in the last months, the Scepter will have more valuable combos now. Maybe i'll give it a try.

Dramatic Reversal does nothing without the Scepter, so it's a dead card most of the time cause i cant tutor the Scepter. And the need of two mana rocks + Scepter makes it almost impossible to build it up.

Urabrask  Flip is already on my list but atm i don't have one.

Fiery Inscription seems to be an upgrade to Guttersnipe, so, i'll get one soon and give it a try. Unfortunately i think i don't have space for both :(

Let's come to Gamble: I think, i'm not risky enough for it, since i feel really unhappy everytime i play Chaos Warp ^^

I'd see about trying to get Isochron Scepter and Dramatic Reversal. Get them out and just two mana rocks and you have an infinite, have three mana rocks and you're net mana each loop. That THAT'S ignoring having the like of Storm-Kiln Artist involved.

Also, Urabrask  Flip, Fiery Inscription and Sorcerer Class are a good trio of card if you wanna pivot more into Guttersnipe effects, and if you go for that Veyran, Voice of Duality doubles the effectiveness.

If you want/need more tutoring and are willing to take a bit of a risk, Gamble is a decent pick.
