The 1v1 (a.k.a. "Duel" a.k.a. "French") Commander version of my Kaalia EDH deck: Angels and Demons and Dragons, Oh My!.

For the uninitiated: Duel Commander (as the name implies) is 1v1, best 2 of 3, with a starting life total of 20. Standard Commander rules concerning color identity, deck size, sideboards, etc. apply. A separate banlist is in effect (hence no Vampiric Tutor, Strip Mine, Sol Ring, etc.)

Deck is currently in "prototype" status and I would certainly value input from anyone in the know on porting the deck from multiplayer to a 1v1 format.

Gameplan is a little bit different from the multiplayer version; whereas the multiplayer version plays as a straight aggro build until it combos out with infinite attack phases in the late game, this particular version is singularly focused on putting Kaalia into play early, clearing the path for an unimpeded attack, and landing a game-ending haymaker such as Master of Cruelties. To that end, the mana curve has been lowered, the creature suite stripped down to include creatures that are either highly disruptive or likely to win the game on their own--or both--and substantial additional disruptive elements such as spot removal and discard have been included to ensure that the path remains clear for Kaalia to attack.
