Genju of the Fields

Enchantment — Aura

Enchant Plains

(2): Enchanted Plains becomes a 2/5 white Spirit creature with lifelink until end of turn. It's still a land. (Whenever it deals damage, its controller gains that much life.)

When enchanted Plains is put into a graveyard, you may return Genju of the Fields from your graveyard to your hand.

Love lifegain!

Ajani's Pridemate could help you add some power to your board.

Radiant Fountain is another lifegain land you could use.

I would also recommend adding some 1-drops to the deck. I know it doesn't seem like much but having something to do on each turn can make your deck much more powerful. For this I would recommend Soul Warden and Soul's Attendant and Ajani's Welcome and Children of Korlis and Genju of the Fields and Goldenglow Moth and Leonin Vanguard and Nip Gwyllion and Pride Guardian and Soulmender .

Hope this helps!

Vesosoft on Bystander Mode Activate

A question for those who'd know.

For Genju of the Falls and Genju of the Fields; when they transform, is that considered a spirit creature entering the battlefield, so it could be used to pump up Mausoleum Wanderer for attacking and countering spells?

I'm planning to build a Mardu Modern Deck with Rain of Gore, and I'm not sure if Genju of the Fields works with that.

Imagine that I enchant an opponent's plains, who can activate its ability? And, when activated, who controls the gain of life?

Thebojacked Yes its much better, for 1 its a lot cheaper and 2 you can get around sneaky control players with the much underrated forecast ability. Also of note, you will never, EVER, manage to get Emeria, The Sky Ruin to trigger. I ran mono-white with 19 plains, never got close, the drops just are not there. Also one more suggestion, Genju of the Fields is pretty fun, you can stack the mana ability so it essentially gains an extra "life gain" trigger, note this is not lifelink which is a keyword, that is why it stacks.

I love this deck. it's probably possible to make a fairly budget version, which I love even more :p . With the number of 'anthem' type effects and aggro approach you could probably do with some cheaper creatures regardless - Tasseled Dromedary and the like. There are loads of 1 white mana 0/4s that would make for a very interesting and more consistent turn 3 attack. other nice buffs like Shield Wall would also work well with this. some other plain old walls would also work well with an 'early game' approach if you threw in a little more 'defender' removing stuff. Things like Abzan Beastmaster could help you keep some cards in hand. If you're liking the life gain, Angelic Chorus and maybe even Genju of the Fields could be interesting. Colfenor's Urn seems like it would be worth having. Diamond Valley in an emergency, Proper Burial, maybe with Fruit of the First Tree. If you need tokens, Korozda Guildmage's your gal. Scourge of Skola Vale, Sight of the Scalelords, Sentinel, Sworn Defender, Traproot Kami, and Tree of Redemption could also be fun :)
