A cheaper way to play eldrazi tron. This is a good deck to take to fnm without breaking the bank on playsets of eldrazi temple and cavern of souls. Have fun

How to use the deck
mugwump6488, 7 years ago
the deck focuses on using light house chronologist and clones of him to get many turns in a row. use elite arcanist to copy those fated infatuations so ounce you start to get mana you can copy lighthouse chronologist or cards like shipbreaker kraken to smash your opponent with brute force. or you could just draw till you have no cards (through draw step of your many turns) and if you have labrotory maniac on the field you win in that situation. you may ask why I added some other cards in there they are there to hold of the enemy till you get out a creature that can hold your opponents off.

This was one of the first decks that I upgraded. As a result, There are some things about it that are a little sloppy relative to my newer decks where I'd gotten a better sense of how to balance it. As such, I'm making a few tweaks to streamline it.
Out:
- Azorius Chancery / Golgari Rot Farm: Bounce lands are bad in this deck
- Anafenza, the Foremost: I like the graveyard hate, but the fact that she can't put counters on Atraxa is just too big of a downside.
- Protean Hydra: Doesn't do enough to justify something that also can't be brought back by Reveillark
- Inspiring Call: This card has really never done work for me and I have plenty of other card draw. Even in cases that the indestructible matters, recovering from board wipes is just not hard in this deck anyway.
In:
- Temple of Mystery: Green and blue are more important than black or white, so this preserves the most important colors from the cut lands
- Kodama's Reach: Adding ramp to make up for the removed land
- Mikaeus, the Lunarch: While not a great 'lark target, it can get counters on Atraxa.
- Nissa, Voice of Zendikar
: Another way to get counters on Atraxa
- Shapers of Nature: Basically a second Zameck Guildmage with a different set of tradeoffs.
Under Consideration:
- Sage of Hours: I think I have enough enablers here to have a reasonable shot at going infinite with this. Possible cuts would be Zameck Guildmage, Titan Forge or a land.
- Tamiyo, Field Researcher: Insanely good with vigilance creatures, which Atraxa happens to be. Would likely cut Tezzeret's Gambit for it.

First update in two years! The deck has changed a lot as I have been playing it quite a bit in the intervening time. While I feel it has become stronger, I am amused to find that tappedout reckons it has become cheaper to build, and the average CMC has gone down by exactly 0.07. Worse, tappedout now rates my deck as 97% casual, to my great dismay. I intend to challenge this assessment
Out: Asceticism, Bojuka Bog, Defense Grid, Essence Harvest, Explore, Falkenrath Noble, Fling, Garruk, Primal Hunter, Garruk Wildspeaker, Harvester of Souls, Mana Reflection, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, Momentous Fall, Pernicious Deed, Phyrexian Arena, Polluted Delta, Primal Vigor, Rage Reflection, Retribution of the Ancients, Sarkhan Vol, Sheoldred, Whispering One, Siege Behemoth, Springjack Pasture, Steel Hellkite, Sword of Light and Shadow, Vandalblast, Vicious Shadows, Wound Reflection Xenagos, God of Revels, Xenagos, the Reveler, 3x Forest, Mountain, Swamp
In: Attrition, Beastmaster Ascension, Blighted Woodland, Butcher of Malakir, Chord of Calling, Cinder Glade, Creakwood Liege, Decimate, Dread Return, Fauna Shaman, Fleshbag Marauder, Golgari Rot Farm, Grim Haruspex, High Market, Kessig Wolf Run, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, Lurking Predators, Merciless Executioner, Ogre Battledriver, Overseer of the Damned, Phyrexian Plaguelord, Reclamation Sage, Shattergang Brothers, Skyshroud Claim, smokestacks, Smothering Abomination ,Tectonic Edge, Temple of Abandon Temple of Malady, Temple of Malice, Urabrask the Hidden, Woodfall Primus, Zulaport Cutthroat
In general, cards have been removed when they do not seem to contribute to the game on their own. The deck should now have more cards that can be played into most board states, rather than situational or conditionally useful cards. Overall the deck has moved away from pseudo-combo towards a value deck that easily hits a critical mass.
Some cards are experimental at the moment and subject to change. Watch this space.

I've got Shinka, the Bloodsoaked Keep on the block to rotate into the deck. With so many legendaries in the deck this can be extremely helpful in buffing one.

As BFZ and OGW will be rotating out in less than a week now, I've decided to keep this deck alive in a modern shell.
Now, there is more focus on Eldrazi Spawn than Scions, as they have more/better ways of making multiples. We've added some red to aid in this. Eldrazi Temple can now be played, which increases speed considerably. Bane of Bala Ged has also been replaced with the much more cruel Pathrazer of Ulamog.
