Nekusar, The Mind Razer Draw, Burn, And Discard Oppression!

The deck is obviously centered around Nekusar and his ability putting opponents on a clock. The deck is packed with tons of spells, creatures, enchantments, and artifacts which shorten the timer forcing the opponent to either answer the threats or perish.

Combo's & Synergies

The multitude of counterspells is for disrupting combos and protecting Nekusar. leaving open is a psychological tactic that is surprisingly effective for bluffing. Don't bluff without a counterspell or two though, keep them on their toes!

The Scarab God & Waste Not is a brutal interaction once you wheel some tokens out, plus, Nekusar, being a zombie, will let you scry and damage your opponents during your upkeep with just the two.

Purphoros, God of the Forge and The Locust God synergize ridiculously well with wheels as well as the myriad of other draw outlets in the deck.

Purphoros, God of the Forge and Chasm Skulker are the boardwipe insurance of the deck as is Thrilling Encore to turn the tables on the table to use on your turn against the table...

Kess, Dissident Mage is utilized mainly for her ability to grab a counterspell from your graveyard for protection as well as the obvious additional wheel if needed.

Archfiend of Ifnir is used as a one sided boardwipe with wheels. this ability is particularly brutal against token builds and is preferred to a wrath effect.

Time Spiral , Commit / Memory and Time Reversal are your recursion spells of choice to avoid being milled. Beacon of Unrest is your targeted recursion for either getting something of yours back or stealing from your opponents graveyard, plus it can grab an artifact or a creature!

Unholy Grotto is for avoiding commander tax since Nekusar tends to attract spot removal as is Riptide Laboratory and Volrath's Stronghold .
