Storming with Artifacts

Surprisingly resilient and competitive. I have taken this deck through several revisions. Started as a nose to the grindstone combo deck with little interaction. It has picked up a few counterspells to try and ease some of the hiccups when playing players who are familiar with the deck.

Jhoira easily flies under the radar since she isn't the normal boogeyman commander. By the time people realize the decks capabilities, you should be too far along your combo to stop.

Another strength is her draw being a cast trigger. It makes countering things difficult. 90% or your spells are inconsequential, hence countering those spells really don't provide a net benefit.

*Best opening hands are of course mana ramp. An optional great start includes graveyard hate, or top deck hate (Codex Shredder or Lantern of Insight) These help fight faster combo's such as Flash/Hulk or Reanimator.

**Major struggle is color production. Since you try and combo turn 2-4, you don't often have enough lands to efficiently cast colored spells. So it's important to limit double colored spells. So things like Counterspell are replaced with something like Negate. Currently the only double colored spells include Mana Drain, Mind's Desire, Tezzeret the Seeker, and Transmute Artifact.

Few combos-

Sensei's Divining Top- tap in response to every draw will provide extra storm and dig you further into your deck.

Words of Wind- Any net positive pairing of mana rocks will provide infinite mana and bounce of your opponents permanents.

Semblance Anvil is a tough piece to run. It is extremely powerful, but losing your artifacts is tough. Over extensive testing, I have decided that its worth the mana discount. It often forces hard decisions, but when you become familiar with the deck, its worth it.

TESTING

Gush is a new add. I replaced Shimmer Myr. While I like Shimmer Myr for more extended game states, it created a dead draw. I am hoping Gush can fill the void. Only issue is that my island count is fairly low. We will see if that causes an issue.
