Selvala, the Holy Trinity (Paradoxical Storm)

Commander / EDH Competitive Elves Multiplayer Ramp Stax

Alright guys, first things first - go read this primer if you want to know what this deck is built around, because I'm not trying to sort through it twice: Selvala, the Holy Trinity

Read it? Good.

So I was wondering if I could make Paradoxical Storm work in this shell and the answer is "yes and no." The deck is a little faster, typically going off turn 4 or 5 instead of turn 5 or 6, but it's less durable if it gets dragged into the late game.

Compared to the previous iteration of the deck (which I'm sticking with for now) a few changes were made.

I had to remove a couple of win-cons from the deck to open up slots (namely Shaman of Forgotten Ways, Great Oak Guardian+Temur Sabertooth combo and Triumph of the Hordes).

The reason is for Paradox Engine, which upgrades Captain Sisay from a value engine to a win-con. Assuming there's little or no disruption, this deck will win on the turn it has a couple lands, Sisay, and our commander in play.

Paradoxical Storm Plan:

1) Have Captain Sisay in play.

2) Use her to go get Paradox Engine.

3) Cast it. Tap your commander to draw a card and add mana, then cast any card from your hand and untap.

4) Get Mox Opal and cast it, tap your commander in response to the paradox engine trigger to draw a card and float some mana.

5) Get Azusa, Lost but Seeking and cast it (at this point, just assume you're tapping Selvala for mana at each step (or until you have enough floating).

6) Use Sisay to get Inventors' Fair, play it, cast a card from hand.

6a) Do this again for other Legendary lands if you need to (you usually won't).

7) Go get Akroma's Memorial and cast it.

8) Crack Inventor's Fair to tutor up Aetherflux Reservoir and cast it.

9) Cast legendary cards, and draw/cast spells until all of your opponents are dead.

Even getting just Selvala into play with Paradox Engine is usually enough to win since the curve of the deck is so low, but Sisay basically guarantees that we go off.

I've also added in Cloudstone Curio for added storm potential to the list.
