So, although I enjoy the act of brewing in and of itself, most of my creations never see the light of day. Xyris, the Writhing Storm, however, has really caught my interest, enough that I actually plan to make this deck with physical cards.

Considering the rarity of that motivation, I want to get the most bang for my buck. Not just in terms of my budget, but also in terms of seeking advice to try and hit the nail on the head with the first swing. So, with that in mind, I am very much appreciative of feedback! The core of the deck is as follows:

• Use Xyris's first ability to make lots of snakes via Group Hug + Wheel of Fortune effects. Less emphasis on Hugging, since folks already like to draw cards and you'll get a fair number of snakes incidentally.

• Use snakes and other token minions to accrue mana and cards via effects like Fecundity, Edric, Spymaster of Trest, Cryptolith Rite, Ashnod's Altar, and Phyrexian Altar (The Locust God helps push these effects even further by making it somewhat cyclical).

• Use abundance of mana and card draw to find finishers, which comes in the forms of direct damage / life loss (Purphoros, God of the Forge, Impact Tremors, Outpost Siege, + Throne of the God-Pharaoh), combat damage (Triumph of the Hordes, Beastmaster Ascension, + Craterhoof Behemoth), and potentially mill (Altar of the Brood + Forced Fruition).

PS: Realizing that this is very subjective and changes playgroup to playgroup, I'm aiming for a 7/8 out of 10 on the power scale. For reference, the only other Commander decks I own are 5 or below - more for fun and less for victory.
