Quag Vampires Discussion

It's always nice to see a mono black Vampire list. I used to run one myself before I repurposed the deck into others, and seeing them brings nostalgia. Out of curiosity, have you considered running B/R for the deck to be better competitively, or are you certain that you want this to be a strictly mono black build? Regardless, just a couple thoughts.
Consider running more 1 CMC cards to give yourself turn 1 plays. Whether it be more removal, more buffing/utility spells, or more creatures, Vampires as a tribe prefer aggressive builds that start quickly.
- Creatures: A card I enjoyed running was Pulse Tracker, but I know popular choices include Vampire Lacerator and Guul Draz Vampire. More cheap creatures would make it easier to utilize Captivating Vampire and Feast of Blood.
- Spells: Additional hand disruption via duress-like effects (you know the list, I don't need to list them). Additional cheap and effective removal such as Ulcerate or Fatal Push (more Dismember effectively fills this slot too).

Sea's Claim and Spreading Seas could make good sideboard cards against black, which doesn't really care about having its lands turned to swamps. Corrupted Roots could be sideboarded as additional land enchants, or cheaper land enchants against certain decks.

Thanks for the suggestions bro. I would defiantly love to run Kalitas if he wasn't so expensive. Bloodline Keeper Flip is great too, but I think they both would be a little slow for the deck. Mirri the Cursed is the top of my curve, and she's mostly in here because she can come in with flying and haste and surprise the shit out of people.
I like those 1 drops too, I've tried a lot of different ones and nothing seems quite right except Stromkirk Noble. The Quag Vampires aren't bad, get them out early and they can grow with the other Vamps or late game you can kick it a few times. I'll try out some of the ones you mentioned too. Probably gonna go up to 4x Stromkirk Noble and 2x of whatever other 1x drop I decide on. But I feel I defiantly need 6x 1 drops to get things going early on.
Thanks for the comment man, this deck has been rebuilt many times and has had many different strategies but I'm liking it this way the best.

For 1 drops I run Stromkirk Noble and Quag Vampires. The latter are really effect against black and can also be kicked for extra power later in the game. I want to get some Gatekeeper of Malakir as well.
Oh and is there any reason you are only running 1 Terminate? It's a great kill spell.

Balthor the Defiled, Underworld Cerberus, Library of Leng for yourself while having out Anvil of Bogardan, either of the "tempt" cards (which you already have 1), Geier Reach Sanitarium, since you already have Abyssal Persecutor you should throw in Platinum Angel so no one can win or lose. You also need a win-con that's (semi) reliable, id suggest Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth with a hexproofed (by lightning greaves or something) swampwalker like Quag Vampires with Aggravated Assault and Sword of Feast and Famine then sac the abyssal persecutor for win

Hi, Shadow_Tack, thanks for the advice. But I usually play 'paper pauper' - that's why Sinkhole is there. And yes, I'm collecting nice results against most decks. But i think it's a bit slow yet. Usually T1 and T2 I'm dealing with opponent's lands. So, except when Quag Vampires hit the table early, I begin to hit at 4th turn...

I've made some changes and worked in some cards I had purchased before posting this, does it look better or do I need to rethink this change?
I do agree on needing more of Gatekeeper of Malakir, but can't say I want to take out Feast on the Fallen I have had really good results with it. Quag Vampires is on my list of needed cards, as is Kalastria Highborn. After looking at my artifact cards I did decide that all three just weren't as good as some of the enchantments I owned and removed those, adding in the Fleetfeather Sandals. This is more for the kind of decks I face, they have no defense for it and I have cards that benefit from direct damage to a player, and the haste it useful. Considering the tokken decks I play I've seriously been considering Crawlspace and Killing Wave for my deck, just to help with crowd control. Whip of Erebos and Sanguine Bond are cards I'm seriously considering.

You definitely have a good start here. I'm going to second buildingadeck's advice, you really don't want more than 60 cards and the more copies of your main players the better. It's very hard to stick with that rule when you first start building decks, I know. To decide which ones have to go, look at the casting cost compared to what it does for you snd how many other cards you have that do the same thing better. Looking through these, I suggest considering the following for removal: Banshee's Blade, Shield of the Avatar, Mark of the Vampire, Balustrade Spy, Falkenrath Noble, Markov Patrician, Murder While that Bloodline Keeper suggestion is super sexy, you can also do more with the cards you already have. Consider replacing Chosen of Markov Flip with Butcher of Malakir, Feast on the Fallen with Vampiric Link, Urge to Feed with Dark Ritual. Either get at least one more Chariot of Victory or consider cutting it. Others that are worth investing in more copies: Gatekeeper of Malakir, Kalastria Highborn, Quag Vampires These could replace Shadow Alley Denizen and Vampire Interloper.
